New mods installed (iso thermal, coupe suspension, coupe mid-pipe)
I just go back in town on Friday and had the ISO thermal kit, a (used) coupe mid-pipe and (05 used) coupe performance suspension waiting for me
So I had a fun weekend installing those. It's all done and she's running great!
I like the mid-pipe, it's louder (some might call it a "drone"), more of a rumble on idle, but I like it. Install was cake. I had to remove and throw away the small cross-member that looks like it is there as a safety to the half-shaft dropping out. The coupe mid-pipe resonator hit it, so I ditched it. I also pushed up the light alloy heat shield a bit to make sure it wasn't touching the new pipe (just bent it up a bit with my hand).
The suspension is nice - dropped a bit, and really snug on the corners - noticably stiffer, but not too much. I would've liked more of a drop in the front, and am hoping it will settle a bit more. We shall see... With a few tricks off the newgroups, was pretty straight forward. The hardest part was undoing the damm wheel nuts, and getting the car up high enough to swing a wrench. https://g35driver.com/forums/showpos...96&postcount=1
The motordyne iso-thermal seems to work, I drove it hard, then could place my hand on the upper plenum manifold and hold it there. Before, you would burn yourself if you tried that. Install was pretty straight forward The lower plenum instructions need to be better, but it's pretty easy to work out. Undo a few pipes, and 2-3 extra bolts in addition to the 8 holding the plenum down.
She is definately pulling harder and running really strong, but I suspect a lot of it has to do with the temp drop here in Houston (from 100 degree to 65 degree weather) - whatever works! I'm happy and had fun doing it...
Here's some sound clips: of before, and after...

very nice, i'm waiting my iso thermal upgrade and copper tb gasket. i also have the coupe midpipe and i'm waiting to install my 04 coupe suspension also.
i wanna say that i think the drone is related to how much hot air is being sucked in (the hotter it is the louder it gets). i've noticed it's not noticeable at all after startup, but on some days where it's hot as hell it get's unberable.
i'm waiting to see if the iso thermal addition helps. lemme know your thoughts.
