Installing Aluminum Pedals

Installing Aluminum Pedals
I just bought some aluminum pedals for my 03 G35 (automatic), and they didn't come with instructions lol. I have no idea how to put them on. I called the dealership and they said it would take 1-2 hours of labor ranging from 80-180 dollars.
Wow, so I figured if someone can walk me through it I can probably do it myself. Or maybe I can get someone to help me do it if I know how.
Here are the pedals that I bought.

I received an emergency brake pedal, regular brake, accelerator, and the footrest aluminum piece as well. I also received some black plastic pieces and I'm not sure what they are for.
I don't know if the pedals have to be glued on to the factory pedals or if I have to remove the old ones and replace them. Step by step instructions would be appreciated if anyone knows how. Thanks in advance.

You need to put the aluminum pedals in boiling water to soften the metal a bit. If you don't do this, it will be too hard to install the new pedal. After you removed the old rubber pedal, just slip the new pedal in. Make sure to use gloves so you wont get burned when installing the new pedal. Good luck.

You can definitely do it yourself - I did mine! You'll have to go and buy the rubber grommets for the gas pedal though - they're like $7 out the door and they are pretty much pieces of plastic that hold the aluminum pedal snugly. Got to a Nissan dealer to get it, or you'll be paying over $10 at Infiniti for these pieces.

oh..... my...... goodness. if i wasn't already hating infiniti dealerships, i would have called bs. but... i have to believe you. it just follows suit. they charge a minimum of one hour which is $89. regardless of time, unless it takes longer than an hour, then they increase by 30 minute increments.
for more disbelief about dealers, check out my infiniti of raleigh thread in the southeast forum.
g35_girl - please attempt this yourself. you must soak the brake pedal in hot water. i tried to avoid this, just got frustrated for 30 minutes, and finally gave in... was done 5 minutes later.

Thanks a lot guys. The info here was very helpful.
And for future reference with that brake pedal install, all you have to do is have a pot of boiling water. You put the pedal in a large spoon or something and set it in the pot. I left it in there while I installed the rest of the pedals, and by the time I got to the brake pedal it snapped right on without any tools.
Oh and if anyone of you have info on how to install the shift **** please check out my other posts. Thanks guys.
