I had a run in w/ one a while back. From 80-120ish. It wasn't even close...he pulled on me like me on a stock honda civic. G35x is heavier too...the MB must have been messing around.

My bros in law picked up a 06 c55 amg. I love my g35x (06), but dude thats whole another galaxy. 362 vs 280... no contest. The whole car shimmies when you start that fu(ker, its no joke. I had just come back from 6flags the day he picked it up, and no kidding on curved on ramps he's pulling more g's than the roller coasters i was on that day.

His car is 62k mine i got for 35k, so its not in the same league. His lease payment is more than double mine.
I joke with him that i have 4wd, and for what he paid, he should have 8wd.

The nice thing is that i'll give him winter driving privelages and he'll give me summer.

FAR, FAR more people get hurt and even die from just crossing the
street than ever do from street racing.
I'm not promoting street racing, and encourage anybody who does it
to be as safe as possible, but not only has "street racing" been around
since the automobile was invented, but there are THOUSANDS of
things in everyday life that pose FAR greater risk to you and your
family than street racing.
Going to work and catching a cold or flu from someone being two of them!!

If you are THAT concerned about your family, next time you catch a cold
stay out of your house and don't get within 100 feet of them until your
well.

First, I have raced on the roads myself, so I am not condoning anyone. However, your argument seems flawed in almost every aspect and deserves comment....
First, the number of people crossing the street far exceeds the number of people street racing. Therefore, your odds of getting hurt crossing the street would be inumberably less than if you are street racing at high speeds. I dont have statistics that back that up, but I think that argument is a no brainer.
Also, if you are dumb and do step out into traffic, you are probably not going to do serious injury to the driver of the car. Where as in street racing, it is often the innocent bystanders (drivers) that are the victims.
Then there is the matter of knowingly breaking the law. Laws were developed to protect the rights/lives of the innocent. You are knowingly placing people in danger by your actions.
Lastly, I don't know of many healthy people that die or sustain life threatening injuries from catching a cold or flu despite that there must be millions of people that do get a cold or flu every day. Now, what if there were equal millions of people racing....every person that has a cold in America is street racing right now....I am sure fatalities and injuries would sky rocket. If the cold and flu are two of THOUSANDS of things that pose a greater risk than street racing, then you must be one of the most uninformed people on the earth about the potential risks of street racing.

Just my 2 cents.

Your point is taken about crossing the street.
But so you know, as a former healthcare professional, THOUSANDS of
people die each year from getting the flu.
Many thousands more get colds that develop into more serious respiratory
issues. Children especially are susceptible to health issues from
the flu.

But I could of given hundreds of examples in life where your life and
safety is in much more danger than would be from say, getting hurt
or killed by someone street racing.
I also don't have statistics, but I'd also say it's a "no brainer" that
many more people are killed in drive-by shootings each year than
killed or hurt from street racers.

Again, let me be clear. Do I condone some idiot flying through traffic, weaving in and out between innocent people driving at or slightly above
the speed limit? No, of course not, if I were a police officer, I'd love
more than anything to pull them over and hand them a racing ticket.
But do I think a couple people "racing" or running their cars for a few
brief moments on an OPEN freeway with no cars in front of them are doing
an intolerably bad thing and should be condemned for it? No.

Personally, eliminating local terrorists (aka: gang members) should be
a top priority. There's hardly a law they abide by and they cause
more destruction, crime, violence, murder, you name it in this country
than about anything else. These losers are more of a threat to you and
your families safety than Saddam or Osama. And the Hispanic gangs are
growing by the thousands, as thousands cross the border into this country
every year...many of the youngsters join local gangs. It's out of control!!

Anyway, I just wanted to point out that street racing is a VERY minor annoyance to people of this country, and a very MINOR issue of innocent
people's life and safety too. Most of the people killed by street racers, are
street racers themselves...which is also a very small number each year.

I'll tell you what the biggest (traffic) obstacle and therefore safety threat is - the damn ignorant f'ers that think driving extraordinarily slow is safe!!!! In So Cal the majority of traffic I see is because some jack@ss is driving below the speed limit and other cars around him/her drive in a pack.

Pack driving is this least safe thing you can do on a hwy - it enables multiple unforeseen hazards like sudden lane changes, frequent breaking, and accelerated passing.

I wish more people would understand that it is okay to drive the speed limit (or even slightly faster) and is definitely safer to distance yourself for the rest of the "pack" - because you never know what the dumb @ss next to you, in front of you or behind you is going to do.

This is not directed to the posts above - just a general statement.

Probably the C32 driver's inexperience, or fear of wrecking, that kept it that close..............04' G35X, Brilliant Silver,"Padded" (Metal Matrix) by Stillen" "Full 'X' Cat-Back" by Stillen, "Aloomie Pedals" by Inf., "Popped" by Wolf, "Pullied" by UR,"Tubed" by Z,"D-Badged" by me, "Clear Cornered" by JDM, 05' "Tails" by Inf., "Tall Boy Plenum" by APS, well "Grounded" by Gordgee., 35% Silver Reflective tint.

C320 does not equal C32. Basically throw a supercharger on the C320 and voila! 300+ HP. I almost bought a C32 at a local used car dealer. They wanted $32K for it. I should have gone for it; never found as nice a specimen for that price.... I like my G just fine though.

He he. Im waiting till theres some snow on the ground.

Seriously, on dry ground, he would smoke me. When our cars have lost that new car smell, i think we'll bust loose at a parking lot somewhere.
