VDC change in behavior

I was driving home in the wet last night and on a tight, slow turn, the rear-end kicked way out. I thought maybe the VDC was off but it wasn't. Later in my drive, I gunned it in a straight line and got a lot of wheel spin again, with plenty of wheel hop on top of that. The slip light did come on but very late. I found this strange since before, the VDC kicked in immediately on wheel spin, wet or dry - even when chriping the tires on the 1-2 shift. Not really a big deal but I was wondering if anyone else had similar experiences.

My VDC just last week got all messed up. It caused the speedometer to stop working and make the ABS go off on all braking. It even caused the tranny to shift very hard. The dealership had to replace the VDC-TS Modual. Thank God it was under warrenty because it was a 1k part.

Too bad you couldn't find a way to just bypass VDC. Aside from ABS, I hate computer input when applied to handling. VDC and all the other vehicle control systems out there were designed to keep the legal pressure down on the auto industry and make a profit at the same time. If I VDC was optional, I would never pay extra for it.

the VDC consists of 3 units -- one in each sensor, one main unit on the front right wheel, and one to measure lateral g-force under the driver's seat. 4 years 60k miles it'll be under warranty
