Quality better for 06 than previous years?
Quality better for 06 than previous years?
For all those that have the 2006 G35 Sedans, does the quality seem to be better than the previous years? Also does the functionality of the bluetooth system suck? (from the other post, there's no caller ID)
Any interior improvements?

The lack of caller ID is bad, you'd think with over a dozen displays in the cockpit, they could have slapped it on there somewhere.
Im gonna try and mount my phone somewhere so i can see it, i have a display on the outside of the flip fone so it should be fine.
The system itself is very impressive. This is my first BT in car experience so i dont have a baseline, but so far its exceeded my expectations.
Using the voice dial by number, it has not made a mistake yet, in over a week of use. It has mixed up entries from my phone book 2x, but i think thats because the names i used for the entries were too short. Its batting a 1000 with spoken numbers though, which is astouding, considering the noisy conditions i used it in.
Pairing was dead simple, my phone wasnt on the list and the dealer guy swore i couldnt use it, but my lg8100 hooked up no problem. No other issues with pairing as well, get in the car and it just hooks up fine.
Again im very very very impressed. When i was shopping, i didnt consider BT a priority, i was looking for an 05 for the deals, just happened to wind up in the 06 since there were no navi cars in 05. When my bros in law gets his BT working in his 06 benz, i can have a point of reference, but I think this is coolest gadget in the car so far. (Also the most impressive to my friends/family, he he)
As far as other improvements, i noticed in one of the car mag reviews, they complained about the steering wheel radio controls only scans thru your presets and not free form scanning. Well im pretty sure this is the case with 05s as well and that reviewer is on crack, but if you hold the scan control on the wheel, it scans free form, not yer presets.
The navi is greatly improved. Still no touchscreen, but remember mercedes and audi are still non touchscreen as well.
The interface improvement over the 05 model is dramatic. It now uses the same interface/menus as the m and i think the q series. The 05 navi looked to me like it wasnt running at the native rez, it just looked blurry. The 06 nav is sharp and the menus dont look like ther were done in windows 3.1
The whole syetem feels more responsive as well.
Everything else on the interior looks/feels the same as the 05s i test drove.(3x btw)

i agree with everything said above (had my '06 sedan for a week now).
the bluetooth performance is awesome. i've noticed not having caller ID sometimes is a hassle but i usually pull my phone out of my pocket when drive anyway.
kki000: have you noticed that when you hit "auto" for climate control that it sends the air to arbitrary locations? sometimes it sends it to my feet, other times to the cabin, etc. is there a way to always send it to one location?
