Auto shifts hard when engines cold

Anyone give the there G full throttle when the engine has'nt been on for for a few hours or over night. I noticed the car pulls extremly hard, now i know this isnt good for the engine, but it just feels so nice when my auto shifts into 2nd and the back wheels kick out. Just wondering if anyone noticed this and if they know why it seems to take second gear better when cold?

...never tried and dont wanna try
it's basically waking you up while you were sleeping @ 5 in the morning and making you sprint when it's 30degrees outside w/ your pajamas. i wonder how it feels like.

I would never recommend hammering on your car when the motor/tranny are still cold unless you need to do avoid a wreck. The motor needs to be at operating temp and the tranny needs a solid 5 minutes of driving. The reason the shifts are hard is because the line pressure is high to heat the tranny fluid to operating temp.

Guys above said it already. DO NOT do that. It's not just bad for your engine. Trannies need to be at a certain temp to operate without damage. Too cold is as bad as too hot.

My opinion:

Auto and manual shifts are harder when the ATF is cold.

I know it's bad to hammer your car when cold but what about when you're at the track. After a run, you park the car (maybe pop the hood) to let it cool until the next run. Granted it's not completely cold but how hard is it on the car to just go from sitting for 20 -30 minutes, then start it and idle for maybe 5 minutes and then just hammer it down the track?

i cant picture it being that bad for the car. I mean how cold is the temperature outside when you go to the track?

a car sitting for 30 minutes is still very close or in operating temp range. It takes hours to cool a car down.

I think you're comparing 2 different things. WOT while your engine temp. is still on "C" IMO is very bad...why would you want to do it? Outdoor temp isn't bad if your car is warmed up (obviously)......

Is that what you meant?
