Question regarding G35X in snow

When driving in snow, is it better to leave the transmission in AUTO mode and let the transmission do it's thing, or switch to manual mode and change gears as you see fit, especially driving on hills?

Thanks

I just leave mine in auto mode, but sometimes I play in manual mode. Whatever you want with the X, just point it, mash it, and it will get you there .
Just make sure you have good winter tires to slow you down cause it is so easy to get carried away cause of your traction when accelerating in the white stuff. Heck my wife was out of town working yesterday and had to return on snow covered roads and she was all smiles when she got home. She realized how much fun it is blasting down the snow covered back roads. Heck I'm never gonna get the car now .

Typically I leave mine in Auto for the most part because the Transmissions shifts so well anyhow, but the X is great in the snow. I'm running Michelin Pilot MXM4 [225 50-17] and it was surprisingly great in the snow. I was tracking acroos about 4" of powder w/a wet base and the AWD was seamless. Doing 40MPH+ on these conditions was easy and sure footed. Believe-it-or-not, it was 90% of my RX330 running Michelin Pilots as well in the snow - the RX330 was only a little more sure footed, but that's to be expected in an SUV.

drove the x north of boston last winter.. Got a new 05x in january. I would say it does very well, but the tires are marginal at best. Get yourself a set of good tires. I rarely used snow mode since to me it seemed like it was for people that cannot be easy on the gas...

I agree with GEE35X. The car handles well in the snow in any mode. Also I've had my Toyo Proxes 4 on since last January and plan on keeping them on through this winter too.

What GEE said. It don't matter, the G will get you there.

Now if ya wanna have some fun, turn the VDC off in the snow. I'de do this in an empty parking lot the first time though. I went sideways and had to quickly search my brain for the "streer into a slide" brain cells. They were deeply archived since we only get 1-2 storms each year here.
