Sway bars definitely make a noticeable difference, as do new tires.
Also very, very noticeable is Gord's GroundingGear for throttle response and overall feel! A side benefit is with auto shifting.
The plenums or spacers are also great on our engines.
Save your money and don't bother with a CAI.

Here is the order i did my mods.
1. Z-tube (sounds more aggressive at WOT) $85
2. Magnaflow midpipe (sounds better then coupe middy IMO) $130 w/ installation
3. 350z springs (nice stance, 1 inch drop) $100 w/install
Those are three cheap mods that will improve your car right away... Sway bars and Clear Corners are also cheap, and yeild big improvments, something i plan on getting in the near future.
4. Staggered 19inch wheels $2k
5. Sound System $500
6. Painted lower body panels $600
