How to ship a set of tires?

I finally sold my OEM Horrenza's and now I have to figure out how to ship them. Any advice on the best method (UPS? USPS?) and how to pack them?

Thanks for the help!

WHen I shipped my tires only, i went to office depot and got a roll of the giant plastic wrap. I then just wrapped 2 at a time and threaded the plastic wrap in and out all the way around. The local UPS store just shipped them that way. Hoep this helps

If your sending only tires, then you don't need to do anything then lable them and have a shippng company send them. The receiver will have to balance the tires after they put them on the wheels anyways. Besides, that is how tire company's transport tires (i.e Discount Tires). If you are sending wheel+tires, I recommend cutting out cardboard and covering the front and back of the wheel and tire to cover the wheel. Use the plastic roll to wrap up the entire wheel and tire. If you want to really protect them, lay down another layer of cardboard and repeat with pastic. That is how I was sent wheels+tires and how I sent them out to another buyer. Another good store to get shipping stuff is at Anchor Box on Chimney Rock and Richmond. GL.

I shipped a big set of Corvette rims 19X10.5. I purchased cardboard boxes that fit them (like 10 bux a piece for the boxes). If you want UPS to insure your shipment they usually want the item packaged neatly so they can tell if it is damaged in transit. The boxes I got were pretty much the perfect measurments and no packaging material was added, although if you really really want to make sure they dont get any damage during shipment you can double box with the outer box like 1 inch bigger all around.

Just my two bits, hope it helps.
