Brake switch recall on TV news

WB 11 in NYC's memtioned the G35 recall at their 10 o'clock news with a clip of G35 coupe. The recall is for brake switch which delear replaced mine when I brough mine in a month ago, o/c I did not know there was recall at the time, nerver received the letter.
Is this how the car recall works? auto makers start recall fixing serveral months before the recalls are actually made to public? so by the time of public know about the recall, the most of fixing probaly has been done?

I don't have an answer to your question. But service replaced mine last month during the 7500 mile service.

I have never gotten a letter about a recall. I have had 3 recalls and for each they fix it when I am in for service. I am in pretty often.

Mine was fixed when I went in for my first oil change and the next week I got the letter. I for one don't care if I get the letter before or after.
