Auto AC

Hi everyone,

My question is, when I press the "auto/econ" button with the AC on, it just cranks the fan speed to maximum and stays there. This is not normal is it? Does anyone else have the same problem?

Re: Auto AC

I live in AZ, so my AC is always on. I leave it set to AC Econ all the time, and mine has never been stuck with the fan on max. Sometimes when I first start my car if it’s set to below 80 it will go right to max, but it usually comes back down when the car cools off. What temperature do you have yours set to?

Re: Auto AC

It will blow full fan until the interior cools. It is the auto temp. control...

Re: Auto AC

Personally I don't like the way the auto setting works, it keeps the fan level too high and doesn't keep the air temperature low enough. I'd rather have colder air blowing at a lower fan setting rather than having that thing blast me on level 5, so I just keep it in manual mode.

Re: Auto AC

I usually adjust it to manual right away, too.

Re: Auto AC

Auto a/c is a royal PITA in hot weather. At 85'F and hotter it takes a long time to cool my 6mt sedan. The G's fan is so loud and remains on full blast for so long, I have to kick it down just to preserve my sanity and my contacts. I'm sure the lack of rear air ducts hurts but, really, my Yukon XL cools down quicker! Once I get it down to my auto temp setting, it does do a very good job keeping it there with minimal fluctuation or noise.
