I got a doggie door

Picked up an used 03, Silver, auto, black leather, premium, HIDs,navi. No spoiler or sports package. 25k miles. Just under $24k for anyone's reference.

Just want to thank y'all that helped me with the choices and to identify the different options. Making sure the 03 had HIDs was very wise advice. The difference in light output vs my old maxima is literally night/day.

No sports package ay? That's actually a good thing if you're going to mod.

Throw some 19's, stillen sways, and some tokico D-spec shocks and you'll have some real nice handles on there.

Freaking awesome, Jeff. I'm glad to see that you got exactly what you wanted. Nav? Lucky sob You'll love the HIDs and premuim package. In your case, it's probably best you went ahead and got non-sport because you're a suspension guru. You already have the 350Z Track Rims available for your G, you're planning the 350Z springs (you'll love them), and I'm sure you'll get some quality struts. First mod- remove the Power Duct cover from the airbox. You'll get some great inducation noise, especially once you add the Z-pipe.

It's take a year of saving and patience for doing some baseline 1/4 miles, but my G will finally be seeing some power mods. My MD spacer was ordered on Monday and the Borla TD catback will be ordered tommorrow.

How do you like the car so far?

Big thanks to you Dave for answering all my idiot questions. Unfortunately, right after I was able to get all for front Z track editions on the maxima (4 18x8), someone stole the maxima and took the wheels! Arg! I recovered the maxima. Insurance wanted to totall is because of the wheels and the dent or two it received. So I bought some 350z touring 18s, put them on and drove off the storage lot. Insurance paid me off and I'm selling the maxima to a buddy. I could put on the Z 18" touring for kicks? haha.

The G is great. It's actually bigger than it looks. I had to stare at it for a bit to really take that in. It's really what we tried to make our maximas do in terms of brakes (I have 13" rotors/300z calipers), hp and style. And the G does all of this bone stock. Not to mention the rear seat room and trunk space. Hell I just got done putting in the baby seat. Thank the Lord she's can face forward now. heh

I'll have to say, I'm VERY impressed with the handling and the brakes. All with sorta worn 215 sized tires. The HIDs are amazing. Well what's not amazing vs 9004s with terrible lenses on the 92 maxima?

Wow. I had no idea the Max was stolen. The all front 18X8 Track rims would have been ideal. I'm glad it worked out for the better though.

Yes, yes, yes, etc. The braking of this car is amazing. Unfrotunately it does have an appetite for rotors and pads, but they're as easy to replace as the Maxima's so no worries. The car is much bigger on the inside than people think. People on Maxima.org are convinced a G sedan is about as big as a 3-series on the inside. Ha! Try nearly the same size as a 6th gen Maxima.

As for the handling, I'm amazed. Wait till you get the Z springs on and some stiffer shocks. Even on my **** poor OEM 215/55R17 Turanza EL42, the car handles amazingly and has a lot of ride compliance for it's handling abilities. I can't wait to put some summer-rated Avon 500 215/55R17 rubber on. The tires, though still a 215/55, are nearly .8" wider than the super narrow EL42!!

Hmmmmm, we have a 2003 Altima and its a hair smaller than a 6th gen Maxima. The G35 is smaller than the Altima by a drastic amount especially in the rear. I would put this car even with a 4th gen maxima. The 5th-6th gens are bigger in room inside than this G35.

Weird- My G35 feels much more roomy than my 5.5 gen Maxima did...

We here goes my introductory post! Only significant difference is rear legroom. Altima has 3" more. Other than that, it's a toss. Interesting thing. The Altima is longer, but it's on a shorte wheelbase. More front/rear overhang from the tires.

Front Headroom 40.1 inches 40.8 inches

Front Legroom 43.6 inches 43.9 inches

Rear Headroom 37.9 inches 37.6 inches

Rear Legroom 33.6 inches 36.4 inches
