Sedan vs. Coupe 0-60 times
Sedan vs. Coupe 0-60 times
Given that the 0-60 times for the G35 sedan is around 6 seconds and for the coupe in the 5.6 range, what sort of mods do you suggest for lowering the 0-60 times of my G35 sedan 5AT to 5.6 second range (or better)?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Automobile Magazine ripped off a 5.6 sec 0-60 time on a 6MT sedan. The 6mt sedan and coupe motor are virtually identical and the sedan is lighter to boot. the only thing I can think of is tires. I noticed a big difference on mine after I switched to a 275 in the rear. Before the tires would just spin, now it gives you whiplash.
True the motor is the same but how about the weight? isnt the sedan heavier compared to the coupe? just wondering...
I wish i had the MT... the 5AT is slow to shift thats probably another reason....

the sedan is about a 100 lbs lighter than coupe. 03-04 sedans and coupes are about 100 lbs lighter than 05-06 versions of sedans and coupes.

This past summer we had an Infiniti/Nissan Track & Show day at Englishtown N.J. sponsored by the MRC Motorsprots boyz. Although it turned out to be a really hot and humid day with temps reaching mid 90's we all made the best of it and alot of ice bags being put on the cars with juice machines.
The general observation for the most part was that the sedans were quicker out of the hole than the coupes were when there was a head to head run but the coupes pulled better in the mid to top end and would wind up tripping the lights first and the end. We also had coupes running against Tundras, Maxis, Z's etc.
.
Keep in mind that there were alot of variables. Mods, setups, driver skillz or lack of
, weather etc.
Weather aside it turned out to be a nice day where you could make as many runs as you wanted. Some ppl ran down the lane and got back inline for another run. A few did as many 14 or 15 runs and one person wound up doing 21 runs. Definitely on the sechedule for '06.
Don't remember if there were track pics but you can have a looksee HERE << LINKY

but why would a Coupe pull on a sedan?
if ignoring 03/04
the 05+ coupe and sedan have exactly the same advertised HP
for both AT/MT
is it because one is MT and the other is a plain AT?
that can probably explain why..
(because of drivetrain lost in AT)
