Cool 2005 high beam bulb upgrade

ok, sorry if this is repetitive, but i searched everywhere for about an hour.

my question is very simple, i would just like to upgrade my high beams so they are brighter on my 2005 sedan. they just aren't that bright while driving.

if anybody could give me Type, Color, Wattage, and Brand it would be very much appreciated.

thanks so much.

I'm using Sylvania Silverstars, model 9003. H4's will also work. The color is similar to the HID lowbeams and I believe they are much brighter, or APPEAR to be brighter than the stock bulbs. This may be because of the whiter light.

yes fx...i did. there is just a ridiculous amount of info in that forum about upgrading the whole assembly. it's hard to get specific info.

thanks esfoad, does that upgrade your low beam too, or just the highs? i don't really car about the low beams. do you know what wattage your using?

thanks so much

When you say brighter do you

A) want more light output (lumens)
or
B) want a brighter temperature (4K+)

The fog assembly contains the high beam / fog light. It is a H4 bulb 55 / 60 W.

Let me know what you are interested in and I can give you a list of some choices.

what about using bulbs that are actually higher wattage, like 100watts, will our harnesses handle it?

ERIKILL: thanks, i am actually just talking about a brighter light, in lumens. i guess i just want to keep the color fairly white, or just slightly blue, but i don't really care about that.

i just like my high beams to be like the sun so i can see well at night.

i guess people like the silverstars, anything else that is an upgrade from stock without having to change wiring?

thanks a lot everybody.

if you want to use some high wattage lights, make sure you change up your lights with heavy duty sockets. You can find em at pep boys or something. Basically, it won't melt your wiring.

I'm using 130W high and 90W fog. (Got them from JCW) Works well. Color is a little yellow compaired to the HID however. I have seen Bi-Xenon kits for them in the 4-5 hundred dollar range.

Low beams are HID, High and Fog are Halogen

silverstars are OK, some other options are:

Hella Xenon +100% (4000K)
JDM Phillips Crystal Blue (4250k)
PIAA Extreme White (4250K)
Mtec White (4250K)

Just look on online at the price and then the lumen output if they tell you. You really want a non-coated bulb for the ultimate in lumen output, however color temp wise 3K is the max for a non-coated bulb.
