I have both cars.
M and a 2004 G coupe.
I like how the G's interior follows its sportiness in general.
It feels like a sports car and looks like a sports car.
The overall feel is sporty.
THe M is nice...but sometimes I miss the simplicity of the G.
Both are nice in their owns ways.
The G will probably end up becoming like the M.
They put the M interior in the 2006 FX45s.
But definitely my interior of the M is much more solid and no rattles like my coupe. I've had rattles since day one.

I'm a stickler for nice-sounding doors when the close... and I think my 2005 sounds nice when the door shuts - a satisfying "whump". Solid. Maybe difference between years...
BTW - those pics look like the interior layout of the new Versa... which is coming here as a Nissan for around $12K.

The quality and build of the M is what made me trade in my '04 G for an '06. The M has a much more substantial feel. When I had the M in for window tint, the dealership put me in a brand new G. The sound of the door closing on the '06 vs. the '04 was immeasurable. I used to feel like my '04 was beat up, even though I owned it from day one and 8 miles - it never felt like a quality car - all the rattles, creaks & moans (sad to say I traded it in with just over 13,000 miles). I don't feel this way about the '06 G, I love it! I hope it remains solid through the miles. The M is only at 3200 miles, only problem so far is a slight buzz from a rear speaker grill.

But when you close a BMW door it's like a shutting a friggin tank door, and the M series also has that same feeling. I don't know if it's better quality hinges, better built doors, or a combination of a few things.
Go to a dealership and close the door on the M, then the G right away. You'll see what I mean, the G has a lot of rattles through out the car.

Am I the only one that doesnt really like the M interior. I think it looks more luxurious like the Q then sporty. I'm not a big fan of the huge dash with alot of wood and chrome.

FINALLY Infiniti got rid of them!) and there are speakers built into the top of the seat back and it looks like the headrest as well...
my g35's door closes with no rattles compared to my 2k2max 6spd....(almost night and day difference... the max was good, but the g is way better..) the max's door has some play in it while driving.... i put my fingers where the weather stripping is near the visor and could feel the door move with the bumps of the road... g35 has a solid vault like door with virtually no play...
not really fair since max is 4 years old with 60k miles.... door kinda of wrapping around frame (over-flanged style) design may be the culprit.... where as g35 doors closes flush and into the frame...
