Exclamation brakes - not the usual question

i leased my g35x as a demo with 5000 miles on it. I now have 8600 miles on it and the front brakes are worn down like crazy and starting to squeek. Im going in for an oil change next week... do any of you think that i can get them to change the pads for free or at a reduced price?

the dealer will service your brakes for free - just tell them that you're having problems.

Hi:

I bought my G35x from King Infiniti and I just had my first oil change..

When I asked the service manager about the brakes and the problems people are having....

He replied that he thought that infiniti was going to extended the warranty on the brakes.....

So I belive that they will replace the brakes for you without any problems...

Just my 2 cents.....

Just because they are squeaking does not mean they are "worn down like crazy." Have you checked the pads? Could be glazed. Could be worn out, too, but there is more than one cause for squeaking brakes. Let us know what you find.

The warranty extension is for 03&04 models up yo 3yrs/36k miles. As long as you're within those parameters you're good to go.

and add 2005 X models to the 03 and 04 non-brembo's as the 05 X's still have the old brakes. sucks for me I guess

no i said what i meant. they are worn down. The rears look as tho they have already been replaced because they have the b-quiet blue stuff already on them. The fronts are about down to 10-15% of a new brake. I changed my own brakes before on cars so I think I can tell what is normal and what isnt.

the dealer said they wouldnt do anything for me since i have an 05. They said they would only service 03's and 04's. This is complete bull****.

Obviously there is something wrong with your brakes. At 8K, your brake pads should be almost new. I would tell the dealer to look for the cause of this premature wear, not to tell them to change pads!

I highly doubt that you're brakes are worn so badly that they need replacement....mine squeak now & again (just before coming to a stop). My car was in for 5 warranty items to be fixed today, plus a 30K service and I had the letter from Infiniti re: '03 & '04 brake pads/rotors and the premature wear (how Infiniti will replace them). It turns out they'll only replace them for free under 3 yrs./36K if they are in fact down to the end of their life. I have 34K miles on my car and the fronts have 1/2 their life left and the rears are even better (obviously). Who knows...maybe every dealership is different. I thought I'd at least try. BTW...the reason they said my brakes were squeaking is because I have my winter/snows on (I have steel wheels) and they don't allow the brake dust to distribute...and it gets back on the rotors. Oh well. Good luck w/ your brakes.

well i have 9500 miles on the G, and they said the front brakes have about 30% life left, or 2-3k miles. Is there any way for me to get infiniti corp to have a letter for my 05x to be replaced. I was under the idea that my x has the same brakes as the 03's and 04's.

Wow, that is extremely quick brake wear..... I'd definitely complain to the dealership that you got it from. You can go to ANY Infiniti dealership for service or warranty work, but in your case, I highly recommend you deal directly with the place where you got it from....that just ain't right if they don't replace them for you for free. As for getting a letter from Infiniti, I doubt it...your best bet is dealing w/ the local dealer (IMO).
