Bad vibration, rotors or wheels?

Well I have been getting a bad vibration in my steering wheel for some time now but yesterday it was just scary. The vibration was so bad I was scared to go fast on the highway because it felt like one of my wheels were about to just come off the car. Now my wheels have been balanced I would say about 2-3 months ago. My question is I know rotors can make the wheel vibrate too, but would this be caused by the rotors if I was not breaking?

I am getting new tires this thursday so I will know if it is the tires or not. But if it is my rotors I will be pissed at my dealership because I have 30k on my car and my front rotors have been turned and resurfaced twice and I wanted new rotors the 2nd time.

Generally speaking, unless the rotors are really really warped, you should not feel any vibration from a warped rotor unless you are touching the brake pedal. Most likely it is a bad tire - you might want to look at it before you keep driving on it.

Could be a bent rim. Check the inside portion of the wheel also. Retorque your lugs as well.

If I had a bent rim, would air be leaking out? Sorry if that is a really dumb question.

Not necessarily. The rubber could still seal around a bent rim.
Also being that you feel it more in the steering wheel, the problem is probably in the front, as opposed to the rear which would be felt more in the seat.

Suggestion: have someone drive alongside and carefully look at your wheels to see which is bouncing and go from there.

Be careful in the meantime until it's fixed.

Well on Thursday I am getting my 05 350z springs put on, D-spec shocks, and 4 new tires mounted/balanced so I am hoping that takes care of this problem. My current tires are done they have 14.5k on them.
