03 Sedan Not shifting into 5th gear automatically! :(

Hey guys!
I got my car towed from my girlfriend's house on saturday night and after i picked up my car from the moron's shop, i noticed when i get passed 45mph the car doesnt go into 5th gear if i have it under "Auto".
I can change to triptronic and change the gears without a problem but when i drive in auto it doesnt want to shift into 5th?

Has this happen to anyone?

Thanks in advance!

I've seen that 1 time. I replaced the shifter to resolve.

Get it to a dealer if it's still under warranty. Why did you have to tow it in the first place?

i'm curious, if you're in D, how do you know if you're in 4th or 5th? i notice whenever i'm in D, if I switch to manumatic, even @ 80, i feel the revs kick up a notch and i'm in 4th

probably because the rpms are going to seem higher driving in 4th going 45mph+.

Smile 5th Gear

Hi:

How do you know if you are in 5th gear ????

In my other cars that I have owned when I was in 5th gear or OD my RPM's would drop and my gas mileage would go up but never noticed this with my
G35x.....

Thanks....

How do you know if your in 5th gear. If I recall correctly, when you put it into manual mode, it will drop you one gear. If your going 45mph in auto, you're most likely in 5th and putting it into manual mode will drop you into 4th. I don't think there's a problem with your car.
