installation from tech dude
installation from tech dude
man im really bum and about to get **** and go homicidal on their asses.
so 2 half hours i drop off my car at a well respected car shop to install my HIDs on my foglights. the instruction on the HID said its plug and play and easy installing about 30minutes.
so i let the tech guy take my car to install it and still almost 3 hours now he isnt even done. their rate : 75 dollars and hour labor. omg this is fkcing so wrong.
can anyone tell me if its possible for a respected auto shop to take more then 3 hours to do a simple HID installation?
price so far has reach about 200 dollars. thats half of what the hid kit cost. and they probly wont be done for few more hours.
i think i will be charge about 350 or more for installation. what should i do?
I got a feeling this gona end up on the 10 o clock news with "misguided youth on killing spree at local auto shop"..

Sounds like you're getting hosed.
Did you get a price quote from them? Or did they say "It should take 1 hour, but anything over will be additional and we charge $75 hourly"?! If that's what they said...then I guess you really can't fix the mess.
Did you sign anything? I think if you didn't sign anything, then you should get out of it all together & go somewhere else.

Tell them that's all you'll pay. It's not your fault that they don't know what they're doing.

man i wish i new how to pop open the G's eyes. if i did i wont have gone to those basterds. kinda like trying to open the inside door cover. man i screw drive every single crack and i couldnt get it pop open. i followed all the advice to open the door and nota. and i damaged the handle abit, so for something as big as the G's eyes where it involves disassebling the bumber and other stuff, i just rather not break somthing important. i dont know if the whole ideal about HID, cost and installation was worth the cash, BUT.... the headlights look soooo sooooo niiice.. 4700k wasnt as bright as i thought itll be. ya there was a bumb up a level noticable brightness but nothing that spectacular. My high beam, lol it look like the picture of a weed plant. those joint that u wrap up and get funky with. lol but all in all its bright and the headlights and car, look so freaking nice at night time.
Okay - now I am confused. Did you get the dual lights (both hi & fog using a rotating cover)? I am looking at the McCulloch 4700K H4 Bi-Xenon HID conversion Kit on ebay - $385. The distributor (supervtec on ebay) is around 90 minutes away from me. His price for the install is only $50. I am a little concerned about the issue with the hi beams. What do you mean when you say "it look like the picture of a weed plant"? Do you have any pictures you can post? Anyone else have an ideas? I was going to have this done this Friday...

the 4700k is a great color and really matches with that product, and ya its wierd, the hi beam works, if i hi beam you youll notice it, but the beam pattern isnt complete. it really does look like a weed plant, the pattern is broken up and looks like the plant if shine from 20 feet away into a wall. im not sure if its the product or my installation. i email him and waiting to see what he said.
