Any chance the 07 sedan will have M/T AWD?

Helloooo,

I am dying for news that Infiniti will announce the new model with M/T AWD. Any chance this time around? My M/T obsession is inching up on me and I hate to jump ship to another brand. Hopefully they'll have dual exhaust for the new sedan.

i dont think so, not till 2010 after 3 years of current model.
They will want to sell much non X version and then when sales starts to go down, they will then intro the X with M/T
Just my thought...

Current G came out end of 2002 (2003 model). X is available as 04 model (end of 03). That's only 1 year.

I have said "then intro the X with M/T" I wasnt talking about the auto. I dont know why Infiniti is taking this long to make M/T for AWD.

Yeah, I don't know why either. There's a market for audi quattro's m/t, bmw 3 series/5 series awd m/t, so on and so forth.

There may be a market, but it's a small one. Like it or not, autos are way more popular than MT's with most cars available both ways, the that bias is even greater with AWD vehicles.

It's simple marketing 101. If the demand isn't there to make it worth their while, they will put those resources into making more autos.

Volvo R models are a good example. A nice 300 hp awd sedan that they're about to kill due to lack of sales.........the only reason it may survive is this year they recognized the market and came up with a greatly improved 6 speed auto to attract more buyers.....

That's just sad, people are just too lazy to row their own gears. It's already end of January (NY Auto Show is in April) and still no pictures of the sedan.

i think its the us market that is lazy and just feeds the autotragic market even more... i could be wrong, but i think the majority of the foreign countries drive ye old manual shift... as for the 07 g35 sedan, i hope they don't make it into a pig like what they did to the maxima for the 04+...if pricing stays the same as 06, then i wouldn't protest too much, but if the prices start moving up to be like the is250/350 i would definitely hate them infiniti marketing people...

Is it that we're lazy or we're numb? Sorry, but for all the wonderful subtleties of driving a MT, I'd never trade in my Auto for a Manual. There's nothing sporting about driving a 6MT in bumper-to-bumper traffic, or city traffic for that matter. For the less than 10% of the time that I could actually enjoy using a manual, I'll make do with a manumatic. It offers at least 50% of the manual experience.

Also, if you look at some the expensive sport cars they are no longer offering MT's at all. They have a clutch-less paddle system attached to the steering wheel. I guess this is like manumatic on steroids. I dirve a MT, and I will admit that it is a PITA when driving in traffic, but most of my driving is done off the usual hours to avoid it.

The bottom line is they make two trannies for a reason. Nothing more than I love to hop in a nice MT in the country on a weekend. But you wouldn't catch me dead with a MT as a daily driver. In my area, and in most others, traffic during the commuting hours is hell with a MT. And since my G is now my daily driver, a MT is out. When in traffic, I'm drinking coffee and making business phone calls, and the last thing I need is to tie up another leg and arm just to move my car. But that being said, when I buy another third car, it will be a MT, to enjoy on off hours.

I venture to say that most people buying G's are not buying it as a weekend car, but instead a daily driver. And thus the heavy AT bias.

I also don't forget my racing days of a couple years ago, where autos rule drag and street racing with the right torque converter Not sure that will ever be available for this car, though....

Yup, like to see it. But 4000 with a 7800 limit would be about perfect.....
