CD-R Problems?

Anyone having problems playing CD-Rs on the standard (non-BOSE) system? I recall posts about them jamming the changer but think it was mostly on the BOSE units.

Re: CD-R Problems?

I dont think its the CD-R format, I think its just when people put the labels on the CDs that makes them jam.
I only play recorded CDs in mine and never had a prob.

I don't think there's much of a difference between Bose and non-Bose. They both use basically the same head unit manufactured by Clarion. Only the amp and speakers (and the cassette-deck door flap) are Bose.

I'm only using standard music CD's.. the kind that the owner's manual does allow.. and mine jams.

CD's vary in thickness - maybe that's it. Maybe there is so much schwag on the face of them that the disc player pukes.

Re: CD-R Problems?

There is something fishy with the CD feeding mechanism in both the Bose and standard head units. I have the standard one and it gets really confused by some CD's. I have only used original CDs so far, no CD-R. Most CDs work fine, but some either take much longer to go in or get thrown back out after a few seconds?! For example, my stereo happily plays many CDs, but it keeps spitting out one of my Apocalyptica CD's. I guess the G35 does not like cellos. It smells to me like the CD feeder was designed with little tolerance for CD size differences. Bad move Clarion.

No no bad move Infiniti for picking it... I didn't buy my car from Clarion... knock on wood my Bose system with a mix of original and CD-R has been fine.

Re: CD-R Problems?

I was specifically looking for feedback from non-Bose owners on this issue. Seems CD-R problems are specific to the Bose head units. Although Clarion makes both units there may be slightly different specs.
