You know, Infiniti says that you shouldn't go wider than 225 in the front or you'll rub into the suspension. I see many running 235, and a few 245.. but how far do you want to push that? I'd be afraid to run something that wide in the front, and I'm not willing to go with a staggered setup on the sedan.

yes cupping happens severly at 7000 miles with road roar on my 2004 G35C. Infiniti will not cover this for me, but they did for other people. I called consumer relations and the dealer three times. I'm not done yet...

 

My car came with the Bridgestone Turanzas as well with sport package. Why would they put these tires on a "sport" package???? I tried driving the G at the same pace as my '04 IS300 on this one on-ramp by my house and I had to go considerably slower. I could feel the sidewalls start to roll and squeal. My IS had only 17" with 215's. Pretty poor choice on Infiniti's part in my opinion....no "sport" in Turanzas .......

 

The turanzas are standard touring tires and suck for any really aggressive driving. I would be really careful pushing the car with those, especially after about 15k miles on them. I still have my set and they look fine after 8000 miles of mostly highway driving. They are marginal in the snow.

I was thinking about getting some 235 50s. Has anyone had any issue with that size? I wouldn't think there would be any problem with clearance etc.

 

its to bad they didnt use the turanza ls-v's or ls-z's. they are like night and day in comparision to the oem's. i had them on my maxima and they were an excellent tire. i got decent mileage out of them and they handled very well in dry weather, rain, and decent in snow. they are up there in price though.

 

I may have to buy a new tire.

Noticed today a 1/2 inch gough in the sidewall of one tire. Don't know where it came from.

I'm going to the tire store tomorrow, and see what they say. And whether they have replacements.

Options are either it isn't bad enough to affect the tire.

They don't consider it safe to drive, but good enough for a spare, in which case I swap it with the spare. (Problem with this is I would have 3 tires with 16K miles, and one with none). Would be the second cheapest option.

Buy another tire like the OEM, match it with the spare, and use the other good front tire as the spare. I would then have matching front, and matching back, but not 4 matching. The most expensive of the 3 options.

4th, much more expensive, is a new set of 4 tires.

I'm more interested in daily driving. I don't want anything rougher than my current ride, and it handles more than good enough for my needs.

I have 245/45 18's on all four corners. No rubbing at all. The stock GY GSD's were noisy. I put on GS-D3's. In my opinion they are very good. Not too noisy but most high perf low profile tire are going to be a bit noisy. That is one of the sacrifices for rock solid handling wet or dry. Lower tread life being another.

I replaced my Turanzas with 235-50-17 Goodyear F1 GS-D3s and the difference is like night and day. My favorite off ramp was dicey at 50 with the old tires. Now, 60 is comfortable.

 

Considering the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW-2 (second generation g-force). 245/45/18's on 8.5" wheels. Anybody 'been there done that' ? Don't care much about the road noise issue, if it truly does exist w/these tires .
