The Coupe concept IS the next G35/37 coupe - minus the futuristic equipment. There are confirmed reports that this will be the case, including the interior design. One can only hope that the sedan will follow, for I'm getting real close to upgrading to the IS 350.

IS350 is small compared to the G35, I barely had enough leg room and my head was touching the roof, definatly not for people over 6'2

But the interior was sweet

Ya it's small but it's just for me - I'm 6' and it was fine even w/the seat all-the-way-up. My head was close to the roof but there was a few inches to play. I still have an IS350 that was loaned out to me for the week, and it's a breath of fresh air compared to my G35x. Going back to the G is like going back into a loaner car. If the new one is as good as it looks, I may stay w/Infiniti, so I'll way until I see the new sedan before I dump my current G.

One way or another I'm out of this one.

I'm a curreny Lexus owner ['05 RX 330] and the Sales manager of the dealership lives in my neighborhood, so I have his IS 350 w/all the toys including the sport package w/the lip spoiler [which looks fantastic], and the Mark Levinson Audio System, which is unbelieveable. He's driving a new ES 350 which is garbage.

If I were to purchase this car as is, my payment only jumps up $90.00 from my current G lease paymant, so I'm very tempted. But again I'll wait until I see the new G35/37. Contrarty to other that have commented, at least around here, they are dealing on the IS.

I have been thinking that too, especially since the IS has a 6AT and paddle shifters, it seems that Infiniti would do this to the next gen G also. I hope they do because that would be awesome.

Yeah, a Six speed auto would improve things dramatically for us X drivers.
Even better would be a 6-speed manual option.
I agree that the G Coupe concept will share many elements with the production version, like the M class/Fuga concept did before it.

It will be interesting to see if they can improve the car while keeping the pricing competitive. I'm sure it will be more expensive, though it would be nice to see Infniti keep an edge.

Easy now... You never know who might be in that age group you are labeling.

the way you guys describe the secrecy of the new concept, makes me think that the new one will be nuts!

Some interesting things that were mentioned in AutoWeek (Jan 23):
- The 3.5-liter V6 remains in the G35 but will be updated for more mileage, cleaner emissions and just better than 300 hp.
- The redesign should fare well through 2010 when a fully refreshed G35 launches

Perhaps the redesign is not as all-encompassing as I had imagined, but should certainly be more complete than the 2004 to 2005 changes. As for 340hp, maybe the 20 year old salesperson is planning on adding the Turbonator to his car to achieve this figure?

an eight year model cycle? i dont' believe this autoweek article at all. i think it's pretty safe to say that this will be a total refresh.

A total refresh would encompass a redesigned chassis, which I don't think Nissan is going to be doing anytime soon.

I agree with you.

I would bet on some new sport seats included in sport package, aux. input (IPOD), new wheels, dual exhaust, and a bit more horsepower & torque. The car will probably have a slightly different exterior appearance through new bumpers, headlights, and side body molding. Perhaps some additional colors as well.

It would also seem kind of strange (and expensive) to revamp the interior as much as the concept depicts for just three years. I posted exactly what was printed, which is probably what was discussed at the Detroit show. But then again, what actually happens could be something completely different. Hopefully we'll find out more in April.
