Help Deciding Tire Size for 18" Wheels

Hey there, I'm a new proud parent of a 2003 G35 Sedan. Retired the Acura Legend and finally found a suitable replacement in terms of classic looks and good performance. Was going to wait a bit until I slapped on rims, but being the impatient person I am decided to get them this week. My question is what is the suitable Tire Size for 18 x 8.5" (38)? Tire Rack, Wheelmax & Discount Tires give all different recommended tire sizes. I live in Philadelphia so I don't have the luxury of nice smooth roads everywhere I drive. I want the most cushion for those friendly potholes and no issues of rubbing. Also, I like the wider appearance of thicker tires so at least it is flush with the fender. If you could clue me in on what would be best for me, that would be much appreciated.

I bought these rims from Wheelmax, there tire selection is sorta of weak though: Ace Zeus 18 x 8.5" (38)

There tech guy advised me to go 225/45-18, but that is smaller than the OEM size my tires are now. 215/55-18. I'm trying to fill in the fender a bit more. Which of the following tire sizes would you recommend for the location and look I'm trying to go for w/out any problems of rubbing. My Sedan is an early 2003. Do the fender gaps differ from 2003-2005 model sedans?

225/45 - 18
225/50 - 18

235/45 - 18 - is this correct OEM?
235/50 - 18

245/40 - 18
245/45 - 18

Much Appreciated, Long

PS: If you're in the Philadelphia area and want to check out some nightlife, I do events in the area. Hit me up and I'll hook you up.

Also: Has anybody installed the Demon Eyes and is it worth the hassle?

OEM according to the manual says: P215/55R17. I'm not sure what it is for 18" since it's not in the manual. I've been reading around the forums and people have been using P245/45R18. I asked the tech guy at wheelmax if I could use them and he said they rub. Not sure if he was trying to push me to the 225/45R18, but I checked Tire Racks sight and saw the same listing. It just seems too small for some reason.

No that isn't true you can go with a 235 or 245 18" tire with out any rubbing. The sport package G35s (I have it) comes with 235/45/18 tires and people are putting 245 series on the 18" sport package wheels which are 18x7.5. The 17" Oem none sport wheels are 215 series. The +38 mm offset is fine it's will not be as flush as a +35 but it won't be tucked into your fenders that much either.
