I saved $200!!! Thanks for the help!
Yeah! If you think about it, those tools probably already paid for themselves in what you saved on cost at the dealership.

Is the front jack point accessible without removing any of the plastic covers beneath the car up front? I tried to locate it, but not enough clearance to look under there...do I need to drive my car up onto some 2x4's to be able to see the front jack point?

I used the car's frame to lift up the car.

are you jacking at the front & rear central points or the reinforced stand points (two on each side)?

When I jacked up my car. I used my large jack to lift the car at the front tie down hooks right behind the front suspension on each side. Very strong location and did perfect. I used that area to jack, then placed the stands under the front part of the frame rails.

Been jacking cars for years without a problem. I just use the strongest parts of the car.

Birdhouse...I finally opened the craftsman package today...haha

So where did you jack up the car? Did you jack up using the "garage point" area? I peeked down at the car and I can barely see anything. How in the heck do you guys do it.

I have the same jack but I use the jack points in the front center and rear. I cut a small piece of 1/2" plywood to put on the jack pad.

I then put the jack stands under the transverse link (the thing that looks like a lower control arm) in the front. In the rear I put the jack stands under the Rear lower link (the thing that looks like a lower control arm). Never had a problem. I guess I don't trust the jack points at the 4 points under the body of the car.

Drive your car up onto some 2x4's or larger and then you can see the center jack point when lying beside your car on your back (since you just raised the front end of your car approx. 2 inches. I wondered the same thing, but then figured this out. Good luck! It's easy.
