Good lease deal on '04?

My other lease deal fell through, as I discovered the car has almost 500 miles on it, which, to me, makes it not very new. That's how I was getting a $480/month deal on it.

I have a line on a '04 G35S, Diamond Graphite, Graphite interior, fully loaded (and I mean loaded) for $540/month. No cash down and 15K per year. 39 months. MSRP for the car is 36750, and the dealer has discounted it to 35200. Again, this is for an '04 model with the tire pressure system.

I can get the same deal on an '04 Garnet Fire w. Willow interior car.

Does this deal sound aggressive for an '04 model? Your thoughts?

Go to that www.carbuyingtips.com site that I posted in your other thread and look at their lease calculator.

Also, try Edmund's TownHall townhall.edmunds.com and look for a discussion called "Lease Questions - Ask Here" in the Finance, Warranty & Insurance section. There's a guy there that goes by the name "CarMan" that answers all kinds of lease questions. Give him your selling price (cap cost) and he can tell you what Infiniti Financial's current money factor and residual are, and tell you about what the lease payment should be.

Re: Good lease deal on '04?

if leasing, try NOT to put down any money.
gap insurance covers the depreciation in book value, but your deposit - cap cost reduction, gets lost.

by putting no money down, you end up paying interest on the amount you would have put down, but you are protected in case it is stolen or totalled.

Re: Good lease deal on '04?

I hear ya. On this deal, the ONLY money down is $550.67, the first month's payment. No security deposit or acquisition fee, and no new plates fees. No shipping from TX, either (I live in MI).

I think the payment amount sounds pretty strong for an '04, but I'd still like to hear what you guys think.

I think it's a little high. I just got my 2003.5 MSRP was $36,800 they came down to about $32,800. For 39 months, 15K miles and $2000 down I'm paying $425.

Add $60 to that payment to compensate for the $2K down and you're at $485. Also bear in mind that '04s are more expensive -- especially in terms of lease financing, as residuals and money factors aren't as aggressive as those on the '03s -- and thus the deals will be correspondingly more expensive.

Re: Good lease deal on '04?

whats goin on G's. I live in Philly. I got a 2003.5 Sedan with every option except for Navi. I leased it for 39 Months, 15K mpy, and $3,250 down. I got the payments down to $400.00 a month. Its a matter of being very tough and serious with the dealers. I'm only 18 and i managed to do that myself. Need any tips...just let me know!

Yes, you got a good monthly payment, BUT YOU PUT MONEY DOWN ON A CAR, which is a cardinal sin. You never, ever put cash down on a lease car to reduce capital cost.

Re: Good lease deal on '04?

Actually, it's happening right now. I can get an 04 sedan, Diamond Graphite with Graphite leather, complete with premium 2, sport, aero, tire pressure monitoring, and nav for $550/month with my acquisition fee + plates rolled into the deal (which means I owe only the first month's payment at inception), or I can pay the first month + acq + plate fees up front, which brings my monthly to $522.

$522 for a loaded 04 sedan, 15K miles. No money down. Not a bad deal.
