Horn not sounding with alarm

For some reason my horn inexplicably has stopped sounding when I lock the car with the keyfob engaging the alarm.

The horn as always sounded for me before, and I did not (at least intnentionally) do anything to make it stop.

I tested the regular horn functioning to make sure it wasn't the horn fuse.

maybe there is a different fuse for the alarm horn fxn?

any1 know how to get it to start sounding again?

thanks in advance for the help.

There is a silent setting for the keyfob; you must have accidentally engaged it. I'm not sure how to change it back but the instructions are definitely in the manual, I remember reading about it three years ago.

Hold the lock and unlock button at the same time and it will make the horn sound come back.

well i would not have know this feature was even there nor had ventured to consider the car could do this had this topic not come up. This is a very welcomed easter egg.

I turned mine off today and can't be happier.

Dude... you need to chill. I was messing with you.

I got a separate pamphlet (Quick Reference Guide) with mine that showed all the “quick and handy” things on the car… Audio, Entry system, NAV, seat memory, etc. It’s nice because you don’t need to go looking in the owner’s manual for it. I assumed everyone had this.

sorry I don't have that. see what happens when u assume.

but all that RTFM bs is garbage, forums exist for these questions if it's too basic for you then don't reply. I read the security section in the manual, and I searched the forum for at least 15 minutes before posting this.

Some1 probably just bashed you when u were a n00b so you feel the need to pass it on, but sadly it is misdirected.
