i'd say search it but i'm not a d!ck so i'll just tell you.
It doesnt matter what year coupe it comes off of and you wont gain any performance, you'll lose about 15-20 lbs off the sedan midpipe and the sound will change ever so slightly, almost unnoticable. You might as we'll take your car to an exhaust shop and have them cut out the resonator and replace it with straight pipe, it's only like $30-40 and its not loud.

That sounds like better idea. I think I will do it also. I will go down to my exhaust shop;you think $50 is resonable?

yeah, that's a pretty good price. It beats $100 for a coupe middy.

I think we need to get together and make a G35x sticky because there have been a lot of questions on the same thing from X owners concerning springs, bodykits, midpipes, spacers etc...

No change in performance it's about the sound which since you have a 05 doesn't mount to anything. The only thing that you can't use on your AWD G35 is staggard wheels and springs but some have used the RWD springs it all boils down to not affecting your awd system. Wheel offsets, midpipes, exhausts, bodykits all the same...

well... I wanted exhaust work done, so I bring my car to a SPECIALIST. This shop was recomended to me by others.

I ask them to remove my resonator and place a normal pipe,"I'll give you 80 bucks"...SURE NO PROBLEM, be done in a hour.

I walk into the garage...well because I am INTRESTED and sure enough there is a gas like, gasoline smelling fluid leaking out from underneth my car...they put a pinhole in my gas tank.

The garage was large, they had a five other lifts and a dyno meter. They where replacing an entire engine with one car. In the waiting room was a picture of their 05 Mustang drag with the numbers 7.02@205mph proudly exclaimed in red on it.

The man was nice, but he said that he would either have it spotweilded or replaced. The replacement would take 5 days...but I have work tomorow!!!! I opted to have it spotwelded, and I said if there is any problem within the next 6 years, I will come back to them and have the entire tank replaced.

I cant get a loaner...I am to young

they already cut my pipe too, I think I should tell him to finish the straight pipe, and just not pay them

Wow, you are lucky they did not blow up your car. Welding or using a cutting torch near a leaky gas tank is a recipe for disaster. Do not let the guy spot weld the tank while it is attached to your car and still full of gas fumes (I would make him replace it not spot weld it)!

What happened?

Holy ****, please tell me that you are kidding; I can't imagine if someone working in my car can make any mistakes like that.. Touch wood, if they have created any spark when they accidentally punched through your gas tank, you can say Bye bye to the clue there and your car...

Hope they have fixed your tank properly tho

well, I went back. I took some pictures. He said (jokingly) that what I did was really stupid and he would of kicked my f*cking butt if I did that again (take pictures) (again he said this jokingly). So I responded..."well you almost blew me up, I almost blew you up;were even."
I will still pay them for the exhaust job because I feel bad (since everyone nearly died) They will repair my gas tank, fix that aluminum heat shield and fill my gas tank tomorow.

we talked for a bit. I got pissed off because he brought my age into the discussion (I would treat you like I would treat my own son") but I will try to forget that. I exchanged a few words with the owner. He seemed to be happy (I guess because I did not sue his *** or take legal measures)

overall, nightmare. I dont think my car wants to be modified.

That sounds clip sounds just like this This.

I would seriously consider getting the tank replace, it's already been compromised and you got offered a new tank. It's like I ripped your bumper and I'll replace it with an OEM painted one or bondo back the one I ripped and have it repainted...if I were you take the new tank. You lose 5 days now, what if down the line it rust out? It can start leaking agian and who knows maybe it'll go up in a fireball. Just to let you know, I had a custom exhaust done on my old car and some spot welds on my a DC header and the only thing to rust on my exhaust and header were the welds...

I highly doubt that the clip is a accurate replication of a stock G without a resonator. It even says that there is other modifications INCLUDING a test pipe. Even though I will never do that, I dont think a G would sound like a lawnmower after such modifications, something must be wrong with the clip.

btw, I am insane :-)
