i was leaning toward that conclusion.
it's really confusing when reading people's posts and not knowing if what they did/experienced to their car applies to my own. only to find out afterwads that their mod was for a pre-'05. i think everyone should have a signature stating the year of their car, or at least say it in their posts.
but i'm not complaining, the more i read about the pre-'05 cars, the more i'm happy that i got an '05, no offense to anyone . it's like you want to do so much, but then to find out it'll be a waste of money because you have an '05. i guess infiniti really done their job in make the g better.

I think you need to open up your air box (remove resonators, power duct) or get a CAI w/ the ztube to get a sound difference on the 05. I put my Stillen CAI on first and did not notice any sound difference. It came alive when I put on the ztube, though. If I could get just a little more growl from the exhaust, I will be satisfied.

wouldn't removing the duct create more hot air for the intake tube? i think the only filter, other than the drop in, that is worth the money is the stillen box, where the filter is enclosed like oem. am i right?

Yes, the filter is enclosed the same as the OEM filter housing. I have been considering getting the Stillen air box set-up.

I've heard from several people in the past that the K&N drop-in filter in the stock box is just as good as the Stillen CAI, if not better. That's what made me forget about dropping almost $200 for the CAI and just buying the K&N at a local auto parts store. It’s just not worth the dough IMO.
