should we have bought the coupe
Re: should we have bought the coupe
Depends. If you like the looks of the coupe better and don't need a 2nd set of doors then you probably shoulda got the coupe.
If you're worried about missing out on the extra 20 HP--don't. The 6MT coupe versus the 6MT sedan is a drivers race and with the $2000+ you saved by buying the sedan you can buy mods that will make your sedan faster.
A 2004 6MT sedan comes with LSD, so with an aftermarket intake, crawford plenum, and Michelin tires it would cost less than the coupe, handle equally well, run faster, and weigh less. You wouldn't have Brembos, but that's about the only performance difference, isn't it?

Re: should we have bought the coupe
Yea, I do sometimes. The thing is I got my sedan 2003.5 premium and sports package for $30500 or $33500 out the door on Christmas eve. I couldn't wait any longer . This is done via my company VPP program with Nissan/Infiniti. If I were to buy the coupe with same package, I would have to pay $5000 more including mark up. The VPP did not have the coupe or 350z in their program. Overall I am very happy with mine but could do with coupe since my other car is a 2001 Honda Odyssey that my wife drives with the kids.

Re: should we have bought the coupe
Before i started working at the infiniti dealership, I really gave no respect at all for the g35 sedan. But after driving them every stinkin day, I have a new love for them. Even though they dont look as nice, the performance is still there. I'm always amazed at the package for the price - I dont think you can get a better value. And also, you can so easily see in the sedan, couple is impossible to see out the rear.
It is really up to your needs - do you need a sedan or coupe? Both look very nice (coupe of course looks better) and both drive almost identical. Price is in similar range for both, so it is really up to your needs for your car.

Re: should we have bought the coupe
Ditto for me here, the VPP package was great and made the sedan cost far less than the coupe, which made the sedan even more practical. At times, like when I meet up with a Z or other sports cars I get the sports car bug again and think the coupe would be nice to have. However, when I am at a classy place or see other nice sedans (bmw, mercs, etc) I am a proud sedan owner. All things considered I am still better suited with the sedan - price, kids, back seat, trunk room, etc. And since I got the 6MT the performance difference isn't that much. In the looks department, I think both look great, but evoke different feelings. Like I said before the coupe can't pull off the sophisticated sports feeling off as well as the sedan (although it is much better than the Z) and the coupe is so sporty looking in an elegant way. For me it really comes down to mindset of what mood I'm in. Although if I could go back in time I think I would still get the sedan.

i enjoy having the sedan better than the coupe cause if uthink about it u got class+sportyness. 2 doors are mostly for women or people with no friends. lol.

I wonder the same thing. In fact, we need another car soon and I am considering a coupe.
Both cars are beautiful, but the couple has a little something extra about it, although I still love my sedan.
I need to drive the coupe to see if there is that much of a difference. One thing I have noticed is a lack of headroom. I am pushing 6' 3" and have plenty of room in my sedan. When I sit in a coupe, I feel much more confined and have to adjust the seat all the down and back to fit. If I stretch a little my head hits the roof. This may all be part of the coupe experience, as will the 6 speed (my sedan is an auto) so I will judge after I drive it. I may fall in love with it so much I will pick one up - we'll see...
I am also going to drive the Z (not practical at all, though), the Murano and the FX.
Still think the sedan is amazing, though!

The sedan is arguably one of the most attractive cars on the market. The coupe, while also nice looking,is less practical for a one car family.I personally would not want both a sedan and a coupe in my garage, too many similarities.I like that my cars are very different and provide me with driving pleasure
depending on my mood at the time.

Re: should we have bought the coupe
nahhhhhhhhh i say sedan is best. if you ever go on the road in the coupe, you will pull up to a stoplight and ppl will try and race you. now when you beat them they will think pshhhhh i was racing a sports car thats nothing to be ashamed about. But when u are driving the sedan, psychologically ppl will think pshhhhh family sedan. and as such when they do try to race you they will be sorely dissappointed by the fact they were beaten by a sedan. This is all assuming that the other individual has no idea about cars or the G,
Whats even better is to beat someone with all 4 ppl in the car now thats a TRUE slap in the face. is the sedan worth it ? dang straight ! plus whenever you see other high end sedans, ie C series, 3series and you know the pants off of them u can truely take the crown in saying you are king of the sedans ! mins other series higher up.

I agree, I love that the sedan is a sleeper. Many people just don’t realize what a cool car it is and that’s ok with me! I don’t mind schooling a few ricers here and there. Plus, I really wanted something with four doors since our other two cars have two doors.
Sometimes, I wish I’d gotten the 6MT instead of the 5AT, but that’s another thread!

Maybe about 2 seconds out of every day, I wish I'd gotten a coupe. The other 99.999% of the time, I'm extremely happy with my sedan. I think it's absolutely perfect for where I am in life

Re: should we have bought the coupe
Sounds like it's just a slight case of Buyer's Remorse...I'm sure you'll find the sedan is a blast to drive...I love it, and personally I don't like 2 + 2 configurations- if it has 2 doors it should only have 2 seats...And NO, I'm not attacking the coupe owners, as I think both rides are awesome...

Re: should we have bought the coupe
i love my sedan and the fact that i can still go fast AND fit 3 passengers comfortably. the coupe is a beautiful car though.
i agree, snmdesignstudio. the 2+2's that i have been in should be more like 2 + hopefully2.

Re: should we have bought the coupe
sorry guys, dont mean to dog on the sedan but it doesnt even compare to the coupe.. my coupe is in for service for some nice key marks left by some a-hole and i have this sedan as a loaner. it doesnt ahve the go the coupe does, maybe just cus this one isnt manual. Also miss the beautiful exhaust note, but this is just my opinion and dont go hating on me!!
