Safety Mechanism for Clutch

Just read this on another forum. Apparently someone with an 05 coupe tried to do a clutch drop from a stand still @ 5000 rpms, but the clutch stayed on the floor. He had to put the car in neutral and lift the clutch pedal back up with his foot. Normal driving - hard driving while moving, there aren't any problems. So someone else tried this in another coupe, with VDC off and got the same results. Does this feature apply to the sedan as well?
