In your opinion, it would not look right. Many would disagree with you on that here.
If this is what you are considering a "race-car" look than yes I think that looks good. They are not 315s geez. Why would I spend the money to buy skinny 19" wheels with 245mm wide tires and no lip. I will keep my stock sport rims for that. I am all about cruising--I am not street racing or going to the track. If I was concerned with that I would keep my 17s.

I will have 4 sport wheels with new rubber that can bolt back on in 20 minutes--no biggie. But I guess you have stock wheels and tires right? or the skinny 19 setup mentioned above in blue?
But, to each his own.

sorry, little off topic, my buddy may be selling his 19" coupe wheels. I think the offset is 30f/33r. I know a couple of members in this board have them. Will they rub, assume it is lower only with H-tech. Will they fit?
I've seen people with 18" coupe wheels and they look flush with the fender.

I think the point perry is trying to make is that +40 on a 9.5" rim with a 275 tire, will rub on your fenders. The best offset for the sedan in the rear is +45.

You can put a 9.5" w/ 275 +40 offset in the rear, but if you lower your car or under heavy load, it will rub without a doubt if you don't dial in more negative camber or roll your fenders.

A few members on this board have been advised against getting an offset less than +45 on 9.5", but still do hoping they will fit because they like the wheels or because it's a good price, but end up regretting it because of the fitment issue.

Maybe I'm just lucky! I have 19 x 9.5 in the rear offset +40. Tire size is 275/30/19. I'm lowered on OEM 350Z springs and I've never had any problems.

About the comment about 9.5" wheels on a 275 tire in the rear will look like a race car, I totally disagree. I think it looks amazing!

can anyone tell me if this set up will rub on a stock non-sport suspension sedan??

20x8.5 245/35/20 +40

or would this fit better?

20x8.5 225/35/20 +40

i'm not looking to lower, that's why i'm going for the 20s.

And way too much threadjacking going on too. I think there needs to be a sticky that is made with ranges of proper fitments for different tire sizes, rim sizes, models (x vs RWD), etc. God knows it would have helped my A$$ as well as many other members here on the board.

And by the way Texan1, how is a 19" setup with 245 tires "skinny"!? Are you serious? Yes, it's not as FAT as the 275's, but it's a helluvalot more width than the G's OEM's and also wider than the majority of other cars OEM tires.

Don't get me wrong jimbo, that is fine with the 245s. But if I am going to spend my money, I want some MEAT.

Even lowered the aggresiv G here does not look aggressive enough to me. I would just stay stock.

i've seen the fitment charts, and CHICO know's his stuff. The +40s on the 9.5" rear will fit. You'll have to run a tire that is a little "stretched" to clear, but it will clear.

If you had the option of rolling vs. cutting, I would definitely cut the rears before rolling. I don't trust the paint to stretch without cracking or causing a paint issue down the road. DO IT MAN... go get em!

Yep I agree. Even though I have +38 all around on mine per my sig. But the rear inner lips of my wheel wells had to be bent up slightly to clear.

I think +40 will clear with 9.5 and not rub with any 275 size tire. My +38 with slight bend up in the inner lip of the wheel well clear fine. I have bottomed out the rear many times since. When you lower, your camber angle turns more in, so you will clear even more.

Best offset for 275 tire is +45, +43 that's my opinion that was what I meant. As far as 245 I chose them because that's the widest I could go (my meat) on all 4 wheels now if you are talking staggering then 275 all the way most meat but get the +45 or +43 and some springs and shocks. I wouldn't do any addtional modd to make a +40 work or avoid rubbing because you never know in the future you may get tired of spending the addtional money on staggarded tires.

repeat after me: +40 requires no modification whatsoever. No fender rolling, no nothing. 19x9.5 +40 275mm tire is perfect, even with a 1 inch drop. Stock sport shocks.

I respect your opinion--but the above setup works. I drive 7500 miles a year--so staggered set-up is no problem tire-money wise.

No it is not perfect. The only reason why you would not rub is because:

1. the 275/30/19 is 0.50" shorter than OEM spec
2. 1"+ drop will camber in the tire
3. even with a 1" drop you will have approx. 1.25" gap between the top of the tire and the bottom of the fender lip.

If you were to have exact OEM camber specs with a 1" drop and people in the rear seat, you will rub without a question.

If you want to have OEM camber specs in the rear, lower the car 1" or more, load the car up in the back, and put a 19x9.5" w/ 275/30/19 you will need +45.

This is not an opinion, it's a fact!
