Hey Everyone, I'm new to the forum and am considering a g35 coupe/sedan. I've test driven the IS250/350, 330i/xi, MB C350 sport & G35 coupe & sedan. So far I like the IS350 the best overall, but I really like the G35 as well. Especially the fact that they're cheaper! I'm hoping the new 07 sedan will be out soon and will close the gap between itself & the IS. I will say this though, the backseat in the G35 coupe was just as roomy as the backseat of the IS350! That doesn't seem right....

07 WISHLIST:
300+ HP
In-dash touch screen Nav
Get rid of orange led's everywhere!! (or at least limit them a bit)
Get rid of Blose sound system or provide audio package upgrade
Push-button start would be cool, but not a deal breaker
More computer info such as avg mpg, maintenance info, tire pressure..etc
Dressier Interior

I used to have an 04 Maxima and was shocked that the G35 provided VERY little, if any, improvement over the Maxima. I've enjoyed your forum and look forward to getting to know you all better and hopefully join the family soon!

That stuff Is already on there except I think the tire pressure is only when you have a hole or something.

Well I use the MPG thing on my NAV everyday and I look at the maintenance stuff periodically. So trust me its there.

-On my '04 the seat goes back with a lever. It needs to be electronic because you cant get it exactly where you want it.
-I like the pop-up NAV for when I show someone my car and they dont know its there, its kinda cool. Built it would probably be better to always be out.
-DEFINATLEY TOUCH SCREEN!! Its sooo much better!
-Cooled seats
-Ipod hook-up
-Better Nav system- radio and everything on the screen.
-Push start, instead of stupid intelli-key
-Rear View camera
-horse power closer to that of the M3
-Lighter weight
-Faster response on manual mode shifting so you can shift at redline on the dot.
-Something better in the backseat. Theres absolutely no luxury back there. It needs something cool.
-Wider back wheels
-much more but cant think of them right now

Even if the price of the car goes up, I'd like to see these changes^^^

Upgrades:

1. Touch screen for enviro and radio controls. Navi to remain optional and will integrate with standard touch screen. (I have no use for navi and if you need directions mapqwest is free)

2. Sport package- stiffer springs, 18" x 8.5" min forged wheels and a choice of at least (2) tires, such as Pilots or Toyo T1R etc..., better side bolsters on seats, paddle shift on steering wheel.

3. Radio should have a 80 GB hard drive for MP3 storage with the touch screen showing all ID Tag info and file tree selection.

4. Yes, on the Bi-Xenon lights.

5. Yes, on the aforementioned heated rear seats and heated/cooled fronts.

6. A 4-door Sport supercharged 400 HP version will work for $48K- $50K. To compete with the CTS-V.

Well, I could be wrong, but I don't believe the coupe has any of those features. I was not able to find them when I test drove it the other day and when I asked the salesman about it, he said it didn't either.

One thing to keep in mind - the G is not a serious sports car. It's main competitor is the 330i, not the M3. In general, I don't want to see too much extra because it will drive the cost of the G out of my reach. It will also kill the price advantage over the competition that sells a lot of G's IMO. The important thing is to increase the quality and update the interior to the current standards. If they can do that and keep the entry price around $30-32k, then they will continue to sell a lot of G's.

I would like the following
1. Bi-xenon/projector headlamps
2. touchscreen nav
3. heated steering wheel
4. sport pkg that is little bit firmier and less floaty
5. headliner that is black like the black interior
6. at least 350 hp with at least 301 hitting the tarmac
7. reduce wheel gap by at least 1 in
8. for humanity's sake bring back the ip and graphite combo
9. a better gearshift/drivetrain--as close to the s2000 as possible
If they incorporate at least half of these suggestions. I would certainly trade up. Otherwise its 05 till it dies. Well if I can ever get M3 income then M3.

I am talking about adding more power to the coupe because if you want more performance most people would choose the coupe for that. So if people want the price to stay the same then I would want like a g35/g45 type thing. Offering a bigger engine on the 45 and making all features optional (the ones I mentioned above). So that a base model would keep its current price but be able to upgrade to any of these features. The g45 should also include have a more of any aggresive body. Kind of like the difference of a 3 series to an m3.

I just don't understand that statement. Infiniti makes and sells roughly 2 sedans for every coupe. Many of us have families, and simply can't get the coupe. But just because I went with the sedan doesn't mean I don't want all the crap from the coupe; I want it all: the stock 19's, the stiffer rear springs, and especially the bolstering in the seats. The coupe and sedan share the same platform. Engines are the same. ECU's are the same. Wheelbase and springs(stock 05 coupe versus sport 05 sedan springs) are the same. I wish the sedan sat as low as the coupe, and didn't have as much wheel gap.

The point is, just because I need a sedan doesn't mean I don't want the sport of the coupe. Take the 330i sedan for example. I don't know about the new ones, but the previous generation was available with the zhp package. That includes the full suspension, way better seats; the whole ball of wax.

Maybe I should have gotten a 330i zhp.

I'm not a fan of touch screens. There's zero tactile feedback, meaning one cannot adjust such controls while driving without diverting one's attention. I don't want to have to look down to see where I'm pressing to increase or lower temps.
