All of what has been written here is wonderful, however, the people who have the ability to make any of these changes are not reading what has been written. I wish that a survey of items included in this thread would be available to them so that they would take notice to what the consumer is looking for.
For me, I would like more hp to 330 and more torque and while at it please add a paddle shift. Lexus has it and I think a well designed one should be offered for the g35.

Heated steering wheel. My 2002 Maxima SE had this but I had to do without in my 05 Sedan 6MT, don't mind, but it would be nice. On another, note keep the cost down. Remember everything you wish will will add cost to the vehicle making it reach into another snack bracket! Keep the price around 45-50K CAD!

I think that's one of the reasons that Infiniti has been changing the seat controls lately,
onto the side where they belong.

I really do miss the heated steering wheel, the mileage (on non-nav), and why not a 6MT?!?
Cheers!

I'm surprised more people haven't mentioned the manual transmission and the clutch. The release point on the clutch is awkward and it is difficult to get a smooth shift into first. The transmission is "graunchy" as one auto review put it. It just isn't as smooth as it could be. And the seats could be better gripping and more comfortable. None of these improvements needs to add to the price or weight.

Keep it old school!
Whatever Infiniti does, I hope they keep the new version of the G35 old school from a mechanical point of view. One of the best things about our cars is they DON'T have a bunch of electronics compared to BMW, Mercedes, Acura, etc. There is no black box. There are few electronic gadgets. The stereo may suck, but at least you can easily swap it out. You can change the oil and filters yourself. Etc. . . .
I do think that the newer vehicle:
a) needs to have alot less gap between the tires and fender
b) should not have rattles
c) should sit a little lower overall for better handling
d) should have a stiffer chassis
e) should have the DSC provide a half-way point like BMW where you can turn off the dynamic handling control part only, and leave the ABS and traction control on
f) any safety improvements
g) obviously, more power and better transmissions

what does it matter where the passenger seat is?
Why do all the other manufacturers mount controls on the side?
Why is Infiniti changing? (M, FX, Coupe Concept)?
There must be a reason.......they got it wrong.
The seats may not bother you, but...
To me (and many others), comfort & support are far more important.
Also;
Wait until you've lived with the seats for a year or so....
I didn't mind mine at first either.
