You can't see it any more than you could see a wax. Here's a link to some pics I took of an FX with CG on it... scroll to halfway down.

You can get anywhere from 2-10 uses out of a bottle, too. If you can learn to just be conservative with use, one bottle will last a few years.
GeoBau, How is your CG treatment holding up? Also, where can I get this stuff? (I tried googling terms like CG, spray, glass, detail, etc... no luck.)

Thanks.

I thought my factory paint was doing pretty well. I had a clearbra on it also.

I had my entire car repainted. It got messed up when i put my car through a fence at a track day. (long story).

My paint is 10x better now. The place I had it painted at was amazing. They spent tons of time prepping and cleaning the booth to make sure there were no black dirt specs in my paint. Ivory pearl is a three stage paint (base/pearl/clear) so it was tricky but they pulled it off. I have no spray lines and almost ZERO orange peal now. My buddy has a black G35 couple (2005) and you can see the orange peal all over it.

I have thicker clear coat and its more chip resistant (The little chips that I do have are very small, the paint holds together better).

I strongly recommend a clear bra no matter what. I drove to florida from ames iowa in one shot and my painted black grille was basically chipped to hell.. but not a single mark on the front end of my car.

Mine's pretty good these days.

Lots of TLC and a good buffer goes a long way.

That's interesting. Every shop I have spoken to in the last few years all tell me there is no better paint than oem. I'm sure some of the high end big $$ shops have ways and products to do better but never just an oem color re-spray. Glad to see some shops can do it better!

I forget what its called but the shop said its very high end paint. I think oem paint is good, its the process and the thickness that are the issue. They spray it on and dont do a lot of work on it afterwards.

My new paint is much thicker than oem. They sprayed two coats of clear so that they could then wetsand and polish the entire car to get rid of any orange peal. They have very nice booths with all the heat curing stuff too.

I don't have an exact price on the paint but it was probably around $10k. They also replaced my headlights that got scratched and my sunroof and windshield, etc. You really just have to get a quote and make sure you check out the shops work. I live in Iowa too, so it may be more expensive elsewhere to get a near show car quality paint job.

My car was IP before too. Having the car painted a different color is much more work. The door jams and many other details have to be prepped and painted if you change colors. I was considering using a Lexus pearl white that is less ivory (brighter) but I decided against the extra work to make it all look correct.

I had the same shop paint my wheels base/clear which was a ton of prep work (which I mostly did myself in their shop to save cash on labor).

These where painted, cleared and thats it.. no buffing or anything.. they got the clear to lay down so flat that none was needed... AMAZING

Your car is just... amazing in every way.

Nice job on the detailing!

I so need a black car next time. I know I could handle it, I am a detailing nut with OCD.
