Finally traded the 96 Maxima for an 06 G35

I finally traded my 1996 Maxima (H&R springs, KYB/AGX adjustable struts & shocks, FSTB, 16" 2000 Maxima SE rims, clear corners & drop-in K&N filter) for an 06' Diamond Graphite RWD G35 automatic. The only options are the sport tuned suspension package, splash guards & sunroof. I drove the fully loaded 6MT and a fully loaded auto, but ultimately decided that the premium package wasn't worth the extra money.

I probably won't change much at first, but I would like to get rid of the orange turn signals. Also, I would like to add a spoiler and window tint. Does the spoiler make the car drive any better? Also, how much horsepower does an intake add?

Thanks

Welcome to the boards man, congrats.

I agree, premium package isn't worth it...the only must have options in my book is the sports package and maybe the sunroof.

Spoiler might help a little bit at high speeds on the freeway.

Definitely search the boards, lot of info on here.

I also traded my 96 5speed Max for almost the same car as you . The premium package is certainly not worth it. I just bought a PDA/GPS and loaded Tomtom Navigator. Fits great in the cubby hole

Congrats man. I also didn't get the Premium Package. It wasn't worth the extra cost for stuff I wouldn't use. I do have a Sunroof though.

Welcome!

I love those rims. Even though their factory, they fit the car perfect.

I go back and forth on the spoiler. For 95% of your driving it's cosmetic. I like how it looks, but then I don't. I think I would go for a lip type spoiler like the new style Maxima.

Gotta get the tint asap.

No premium package here (obviously), but after time spent with the car, I don't think we're missing too much.
* I don't care about memory seats.
* Nobody ever rides in the back to recline the seats.
* People rip on the Bose system anyway.
* Dual climate in such a small car seems silly.
* I do wish I had the home link, but velcro'd the garage opener to the inside of the dash cubby lid. (I know ghetto)

Easy flamers. (he he ) I'm sure I'd enjoy the premium package if I had it. I just don't regret not having it.

I have a craftsman opener and I bought the small keychain one and it fits perfectly in my ash tray out of sight!

Congrats bro on the purchase. The Maxis are nice cars, but you won't be disappointed with your new G!

Another Maxima convert. Welcome to the club. It seems like most Maxima owners see the G35 as the perfect replacement. I know I did. My 96 Maxima 5MT had H/Rs, Konis, ME rear strut mounts, Warpspeed subframe connectors, MEVI, JWT ECU, modified intake, y-pipe, Stillen body kit, lightweight 17s, 5th gen muffler, black/gray leather installed by me, plus a whole host of other DIY mods. Amazingly, my G35 is just as quick as that the Maxima was and at the time, my G only had a Z-pipe worth about 0hp The Maxima ran a best of 14.31@99.5mph. The G did 14.32@97.7mph.
