Smile New with story, thanks, and a couple pics! :)

Hey, guys!

New here and just wanted to say thanks for all your excellent expertise. This little grasshopper has learned well while she's been reading here! And I needed the help; 15 years since I'd bought my last ride. So old and uncool, I won't even tell you what it was.

Now that the thanks are out of the way, here's my story: I first fell into an '05 IP 5AT Sedan about six weeks ago via some "dealer" my boss hooked me up with. Came to find out, when the "dealer" went to register the car, the car had been stolen! Of course the police "repo'ed" the car and I was left w/o the car or my cash. Luckily, the ol' bossman felt so bad, he told me to go buy a "real" one and he'd help with the payments. I think I made a good deal on the replacement, so instead of feeling ripped, I feel like I'm making out like a bandit! I also think, since the car turned out to be stolen from the local dealership, they might have felt a teensy bit sorry for me. And they really wanted to get those new '05's off the lot!

Best of all, (and please don't hurt me, IP fans) I got the prettiest car in the world!! Literally took it right out of the showroom. Not sure why, but I've never liked white cars. Never really liked black ones either, until I fell hard for the way the G looks in black; so sleek and sexy! Especially paired with the Wheat interior. I had originally wanted DG or LP with Graphite interior, but in person, especially with the tan pinstriping, this one just blew me away. I feel like a million bucks driving it!! I never want to get out of my baby! He's proving a bit hard to keep dust-free, but well worth the effort. Here he is so far:

As I indicated in my sig, I already had the windows tinted and bought a dash cover, also have some other accessories on the way. Mostly cosmetic, as I'm not in a hurry with the performance stuff. What's under the hood is already more than sufficient for my leadfoot. Furthermore, it's more than anything else in the class. Just to be sure, I test drove the Audi A4 to the BMW 330 and everything in between before buying the second G. The G wins on EVERY level in my book! I just love it, and again, can't thank you enough for all the great advice and pointers. The break-in period is killin' me, but you guys have me off to a great start!

Wow my jaw would have litterally dropped if I knew the car I bought was stolen when I went to register it. Im glad it worked out for you, and your new car rocks! Welcome a board.

I was shocked!! And glad I hadn't paid everything before it was registered.

The saddest thing was, after finding out what happened from the police and the DMV via telephone, I drove the IPG home and grabbed my old ride. When I came home again later, it was just in time to see the IPG driving out on top of a flat-bed tow truck. Wanted to cry! At least not for long, though.

Thanks for the welcome!

LOL, D87! Thank you. On that note. I suppose I should edit my original post to say I feel like the bandit, not "a" bandit. Hehe!

And like I married into the Andretti family when I go driving. The G rocks!!

Thanks, DET! Luckily my weedwhacker works pretty good. LOL! Hope the car looks even nicer after the Euro spoiler is installed.

Hi, Texan!

There should be two attached pics in the original post. Not sure why you can't see them, but you can try these links instead:

Very nice! So they just took it away and you lost everything you paid so far or what?

Hi, 321!

Yep, that's right. No car, no cash back, although the police said they'd try to help get my money back. Luckily, I hadn't paid all that much up front. The "dealer" was offering to save quite a bit of money overall, but only if it were a cash deal, no financing. That made my bells go off, so I even ran a Carfax on what was a brand new car. Everything seemed fine. I gave a down payment and was to pay the rest after it was registered, which they had offered to do. My biggest beef was not having all the keys (discovered after I downloaded the owners manual; yeah, that was missing too) until the police called and wanted their car back!

The "dealer" should have a spot on The World's Dumbest Criminals, or whatever that show is, for being so stupid and trying to register a car they must have known was stolen from the very beginning. However, while I'm still out the cash, what my boss will pay towards my payments is far, far more than if he'd offered to simply reimburse me.
