NJ bodyshop suggestion?
NJ bodyshop suggestion?
Hi...while i was backing out of a parking lot...i hit a pole and my rear bumper is now damaged on the right side..I stopped by my dealer today to get a quote for repair..they quoted me $1200 just to get the bumper cover replaced which i think is ridiculous...can anyone from NJ (Central/North) help me out?
is $1200 reasonable?...or can anyone recommend me some good body shop where i can get the body work done?
thanks a lot~...

the best body shop in new jersey is ferras auto body in montclair.. i was in an accident much worse than urs and they did a fantastic job.. they have worked on my fathers car and brothers car which are both benzo's and both were given back like they just came off the showroom. They have a good rep ask around-

Re: NJ bodyshop suggestion?
do you know if you damaged the foam and/or support braces under the bumper cover? someone hit me, only dented the corner of the bumper cover (on the corner "crease"), not doing any damage to the suff underneath. most places told me that i needed a new bumper cover. i found south brook autobody (in south bound brook) on a lark. it is owned and operated by one guy, vinny. he was able to work out the plastic... buff it down and repaint it. i he saved me a few hundred dollars on the would be replacement part and significant painting. i couldn't even tell that it was repaired. most body shops quoted me around $800 - $1200 to replace, install, and paint the part.
btw, i was told by the body shops that the part only costs around $400-500. the parts aren't prepainted so factor in painting costs.
