Weapon - R Intake Question??
Is there any rubbing issues with the A/C lines with the Weapon-R intake system??
Also if I go with the 3.5" tube will the stock engine fit still?
If someone can post a sound clip too. I did find a post with a sound clip of the Weapon-R, but it didn't work for me. I would like to see how load it is with the 2.5 & 3.5 tube.

poor fitment? how do you figure, i have no fitment problems with mine, maybe you didnt install it correctly??? Did you actually do a before and after dyno to prove the power loss from heat soak. Heat soak will only occur when the car is idling or driving in traffic. If you're worried about heat soak get a heat-shield. I just picked up a used JWT heat-sheild and the filter is much cooler to the touch than it was before.

and no, no rubbing with 3.5" intake, not sure if the stock engine cover will fit though.

I have the 3.5" pipe and 4" filter not the 3" filter with a heat shield...and I am in the process of using the shield as a template to build a heat box...there is no rubbing with the 3.5 since you can use the mounting bar to push the tube around...the only thing that bothered me was the lack of strength of the silicone joints...if they were stronger like the ones for a turbo piping the intake would be more rigid and not flex as much...im about to order some silicone joints like the ones that comes with the intake if anyone else is interested...the heat box is going fairly well and will post pics soon

Can someone explain this "double wall" approach, expecially on an intake. Seems more gimmick than funtional....
Secondly, 2.5", 3.0" or 3.5" will not make a difference on this displacement motor. So I'd stick with what they sent you. Guys, this gets frustrating to explain over and over, but bigger is not always better with intakes and exhausts. These cars have small throttle bodies and MAF's. Then you have to look at intake and exhaust manifolds. Until you remove all bottlenecks, there are no gains from going bigger...........Kinda like the 6" coffee can exhaust on a 90 hp Civic. It doesn't matter......

this is the description from prostreetonline.com (authorized weaponR dealer)
"This is possible by creating two different paths of airflow, both flowing at different airspeeds, due to the tubing diameter in which the air is traveling. Now when the 2 different paths of air meet, they create a vacuum, which is where the air speed starts to multiply, forcing more air into the engine at a higher rate, creating more horsepower."

Well, I'd highly doubt that this claim holds any merit, but whatever. Marketing is a wonderful (and sometimes criminal) thing. I've seen this type of crap from SO many companies over the years.......There are so many companies that make their money quick on advertising it's not funny (Tornado TV blitz rings a bell).
When's the last time that customers have been able to reproduce Stillens claims? I think they make a quality product, but over-rated just the same.

i know what you're saying about the marketing claims to try and get ppl to buy their products. But seriously, i dont even care if what WeaponR claims is true with their intake, I love everything about it, the fit, the finish, the sound, everything. I definitely dont regret buying it. As long as i'm happy that's all that matters. No doubt stillen and JWT are good products, i just wanted something different that not EVERYONE had, therefore i picked the WR.
