Pics: Seat covers (air bag cutouts)

I had covers made for the seats, headrests, and armrest (console)...

They are cotton covers which are washable. They have cutouts for the side airbags and for the seat controls. I especially like the cover on the console where I always rest my arm.
I paid $130 installed. I had them made at a shop that makes custom seat covers. They sew them up right there. You can pick any color you like from their selection. I tried to match what I had instead of contrast.

But but but... doesn't that defeat the purpose of enjoying the luxurious leather? I remember making fun of my sister when I was in high school - she bought a nice car with leather and covered the seats with a lambskin cover...

But hey, whatever works for you! I wonder what will last longer? The engine or the seats?

Well, for you Cali guys, I guess hot weather is not much of an issue.
For about 5-6 months/yr. it is 90 degrees or more every day, with high humidity. I can be outside for just a few minutes, and my shirt is wet with sweat. I just didn't want to ruin my beautiful leather seats with perspiration stains.
I know that now I can't even enjoy the leather, but I'll probably take the covers off in the winter and enjoy them for a few months.

The fitament looks pretty off...

If you stay on top of the cleaning, sweating should not be a problem.

I hate the heat from the florida sun but I could not do that to my seats. One it just aint right; I mean would a cowboy cloth wrap his saddle! Two my wife would crack on me becasue she has cloth seats and brags all the time about them.

Ahh! Sorry, but that looks pretty awful. Why don't you cool the car off for 10-15mins before you head out during those days it's hot out? Reminds me of those slipcovers you can buy for your sofa - in the catalog they look great but once you try to put them on yourself, they look like hell.

well, not necessarily--

sweat(water, ammonia, urea, salt, sugar) can break down leather after repeated contact--ala someone who regularly works out and such.

Not sure why all the haters on this. I am sure it is more for heat, sweat, dirt protection than looks. Plus, its not like he had them stitched into the leather, people--they come off. Fitment--well, as long as the airbag can work--should be fine.

The only leather I admire is the passenger seat--as it is very seldom used and stays very clean and ummm....my azz is on the driver seat anyway. I can't say I have ever thought the leather is luxurious or sumptuous or anything bs like that--just nice compared to cloth which tends to indicate a cheaper trim level or make or both.

The make it look like your car is going into storage for a long time.
If you sweat that much, maybe you should shower before leaving the gym.. I am Just below Savannah,GA, and it gets very humid here as well, but I dont sweat like a pig either.... you're not a heavy guy are you? Or are you just a "sweater" . Either way, its your car.. do what you like. Power to the G owners..
