Agreed, but that is mostly the case currently - it is back-end of the car that sets the Coupe and Sedan appart, and that is where the sedan falls short. Hopefully they will do a better job w/the rear treatment, and take the Coupe lines all the way through.

that IS NOT THE NEW COUPE. it's just a concept. the new sedan will be a little bigger and wider. still no AWD w/ a manual transmission

Let's just hope they added a six speed auto to the AWD.

Doesn't anyone else find it odd that this close to release, there hasn't been one spy shot, no cars covered in black canvas, nothing. I mean, look what happened when the new Mustang was rumored, there were all sorts of spy shots, months, maybe even a year, before release. Maybe Japan has rules, who knows. Let's see how much they change the sedan. And, so far as competing with the the IS, the G35 is the reason the IS was redone, Infiniti stirred that up. I'm sure whatever happens to the design it will be good.

The IS was going to be re-done sooner or later, but definitely not with that 350 engine if the G never existed....Same thing goes for the upcoming Sequential Turbo BMW is bring out.

Lexus enticed me to take an IS test drive by offering me a free IPOD. Nice car but it's over all interior size was smaller than the G.

You have to give it to Nissan- How they have kept this under wraps for so long is beyond me.
Da_mayor- If they offered a 6-speed manual in the X, I'd trade my 2005 in the Fall. Hopefully they'll at least offer a paddle shift setup for the Autos.

Can't wait to see the real thing.

What about the new Gsedan's power...ie being competitive with the IS in 0-60 and 1/4 mi times?
The IS is smaller (looking) but it weighs more at 3527lbs vs the 3468 for the G. WTF?
If the new G sedan does not have 305 hp and perform = or better than the new IS--I would not spend my money on just new looks.

The G35 already is competitive in power, with the new IS with a slight 2.6% power advantage. The IS motor is superior from a technology standpoint due to the direct injection though. Based on Nissan's recent history, expect the new G to leap frog the IS and 335 (soon) again in power. IMO, there is no direct competition for an enthusiast between the IS and the G so far, simply because the IS can not be had with a manual transmission and the largest engine. That and the price of an IS350 is roughly equal to the BMW while the G is thousands less. I just hope Nissan doesn't do something stupid like replace the manual with an SMG or some other "almost" manual. I don't think they will this gen, but I could see it happening eventually since so few buyers are willing to do the extra work a clutch pedal requires.

I beg to differ, even though this is labeled a "Concept" - except for the future tech goodies on this car, this will be the next G35 Coupe, you can count on it.

IE: M45 "concept" - it was identical to the production version inside and out except for the future tech items. This is Infiniti's tradition for concepts...
