05x Rotors are not smooth after only 4,000 miles - UPDATE

I have an 05x that I've had a lot of brake problems with. I've had some posts before about this so this may sound familiar. To summarize, my brakes were grinding and my front rotors kept getting scored and my rear brakes kept squealing. The dealer resurface the front rotors once, then they've replaced the front brakes and rotors twice and the rear brakes and rotors once all within the first 10,000 miles. After about another 4,000 miles when I run my fingers across the front rotor thru the wheels it doesn't feel smooth while the rears do. It's a noticable difference although it's not as bad as it previously was. Is it normal for this to happen to the front rotors if the brakes are still good after only 4,000 miles. I've had many cars in the past and have never experienced this problem with the rotors. I'm taking my car to the dealer next week for an oil change and want to know if I should have them do something about this.

***UPDATE****

Went to the dealer and told them about the rotors not feeling smooth when running my hand against them. I was told that it was normal for the rotor surface to be rough which I find hard to believe especially after only 4,000 miles. They said that the brakes were still good and didn't even offer to resurface the rotors. The service manager admitted that they didn't change the brakes for the 05x but didn't know why infiniti hasn't extended the warranty like they did for the 03 and 04 models even though others have also complained of the same problems. I'm also now concerned that since the rotor isn't smooth, I'm not getting maximum braking power which also creates a safety issue.

FWIW, my 05X has 9500 troble free miles on it. THe only thing I did was to change the oil 3 times. Brakes remain silent. My wife has an Armada, so I know what brake problems feel like! Thank goodness Nissan came up with a fix.

it wouldn't hurt for them to road test the car and just replace it under warranty if there is an issue. '05 up they really replaced the rotors and corrected the issue

As posted above, the 05X got the older brakes. But that's not all bad. They actually stop faster than the new setup for some reason. These are the identical brakes I had on my 03 Altima with 65000 miles and in great shape.

And like RichK, my brakes have been flawless so far. No squeaks, grooves, or anything. Only 6500 miles, but my whole car seems to have avoided the Infiniti flaws. I have not one cabin rattle or squeek either. Guess I got a good one!

I just got my 05 x back from the dealer. 11,500 miles on it and I had a few things I wanted them to look at. One being the squeaky and dirty front brakes. They put new rotors and pads on the front free to me. Cool. Hope I have less problems with the new pads.

I also just went to the dealer for an oil change and brought the squeaky brakes on my 05x to their attention. They turned all the rotors and slapped new pads on all four corners under warranty.

Car only has about 12k miles. I'm a bit concerned that I'll be doing this that often, especially once the warranty is up.

Something's gotta be up with these brakes, especially since they did all that work on my car without me complaining very much.

Live in a lemon law state? 3 tries, then Lemon it and get the 07!

HAAAAAAAAHAHAHA!

Otherwise, get them to put the 06 brakes on it. That's my next plan.

my rotors look like the rings of saturn

they feel like washboards.
when my breaks started squeeling, I kept thinking it was the trucks next to me ("no way! this is a new car!").
I am going to the dealer for a testdrive + ignition fix. Maybe they can check out my rotors as well. It will be the third time for me too. But than again I am sure 03 and 04ers have returned to fix their breaks hundreds of times.

The car drives fine, the breaks feel alright. They just look and sound awful
