coupe vs sedan OEM hood (NEED YOUR HELP!!!)

Hey all,

I need to replace my 2005 sedan hood, and my question is, are the sedan hoods the same as the coupe hoods in 05 and 06? I know the older hoods had a raised area or scoop look in the middle of the hood but my 05 hood looks DEAD ON an 05 coupe hood. Same lines, same fenders, same headlights, same grill, Etc.

I see a lot of aftermarket hoods for the coupe, but not the sedan. What gives? I just got my insurance check for some hail damage, and would like some help on this.... any ideas on some OEM looking hoods? Fiberglass? CF?

Thanks in advance.

different fenders bud.... this is due to the headlight configuration/style...
coupe headlights are "peeled back more"... this is as much as i know with 99.9% certainty....

They LOOK the same but they are two different hoods. NO DICE we don't even have a CF hood that fits for us 05-06 owners...

I'm calling the Infinit dealership to ask the same questions... I hope you are wrong about the fenders (nothing personal though).

I'll find out more and share the info.

That's cool but I wouldn't trust them either! They are the worse for passing along bad information. All you have to do is park you car next to a coupe and compare for yourself

DAMN! That't not cool at all. I did find the Stillen Power Hood with a hump built in for the stillen SC... just don't know that I want that look or not.

The OEM aluminum hood is rough $460 + tax at the local dealers.... not Carbon Fiber Hood for a sedan??? Man... what's up? Anyone have anymore links for hoods on a sedan?

if fenders were the same, the headlights would have been the same and we sedan owners would have been able to get the 06 coupe projector xenons....

if you check fender dimensions from a side view the coupe and sedan are totally different animals.... the bumpers are not interchangle either, otherwise i probably would have bought the 06 coupe front bumper (the one with built in chin/lip spoiler) for my 05 sedan...

the hoods will most likely be different...

Thanks for the input. The dealer and body shop mgr both said that the headlights are different and the slope of the hoods are different. So it's a NO GO for me to get a CF hood, I guess I'll have them fix the car and replace the hood with an OEM version.... I guess my dreams of a body mod are dead.

(totally saddens me...)

I think Stillen has a CF hood for the 05/06 sedan.

^ I recall seeing a tread where there was a white 05 sedan that had a CF hood don't remember if it was stillen but it did not fit well at all. I don't think they have a hood out for 05-06 Sedans.
