I35

Does anyone know if Infiniti is going to redesign the I35 anytime soon? When I took my mom to buy my G35 she test drove both and likes the I35 a lot. She is going looking to buy a new car in the next 1-2 years, so I was wondering since they are redesigning the rest the line, I was wondering if they are going to redesign the I35 and I should tell my mom to wait until it has happened.

Re: I35

alot of the talk and some articles is that Inifniti will be focusing on Rear Wheel Drive performance/luxury cars in the future and the I35 will eventually be discontinued

I think they may be doing some refining of the current design for one more year but who really knows? Inifniti people out there?

Have a healthy day!

Re: I35

I just had a I35 as a loaner. God that was a awfull car. Sorry, the G35 is a superior automobile is so many way's, night and day. Only thing joy I had in driving it was turning it back into them.

Re: I35

Come on! It's not that bad. It is just like the old Maxima, just
with more luxury. It is a perfect car for someone who doesn't
care about performance, but cares more for soft cushy ride
and amenities.

Agreed the I35 isnt that bad at all like cato said its just like the 02/03 Maxima GLE which was a great car. The I35 and GLE caters to people who prefer a luxury car ride with some oomph unlike the G35,SE Maxima or T model in the older I30 who prefered a sporty ride and better handling.

Re: I35

Also you forgot the the I35 weight more because of its more luxury feel which makes it slower.

Re: I35

The focus from Nissan corporate appears to be that of RWD and AWD and the I series will join the G as Infinity history. They had a brief discussion about it at a recent car show, here in San Diego and made mention of it in the pre-press advertising as they were rolling out the FX line. I suspect that FWD's will become a Nissan trait and that higher performance RWD's and AWD's will become the Infinity difference. The I's are a pretty nice set a wheels and prior to seeing and driving the G, it was on my list along with the TL.

G35/S/MT....this car rocks!

Re: I35

I haven't seen anywhere that they are going to redesign the I35 in the near future, maybe they will discontinue it after 2004. If your mom likes the I35 then she’ll probably like the 2004 ES330 also or maybe the new 2004 Acura TL that’s coming out.

Re: I35

Or they may come out with a redesigned I35 based on the FM platform that has a cushier suspension, more interior goodies, and cheaper (heavier and/or detuned) drivetrain bits.

Or maybe they'll just add an extra Luxury Package to the G35 that includes things like memory mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, softer suspension, rear sunshade, etc.

Re: I35

Wouldn't those options make it more like a Maxima SL but with a 5psd instead of a 4spd?
