+1, same here. If you leave the sunroof shade open, it will make the side tint look even lighter during the day which may help you keep from getting pulled over. Some people may think that 50% will do nothing when it comes to protection from the sun, but I can assure you it does plenty. If I have the window down and the setting sun is shining on my face you can feel the "burn". Roll the window up, and it's a world of difference.

5% all around except the front windshield. It's still factory. Did to match the look with the wheels.

I got off early today and decided to drop by and get it done. I'll get pics of it tomarrow after my car is cleaned up a bit. I got Johnson Films Silhouette in 45%. The car looked EXACTLY the way I wanted to. Also the guys at California Tint on mission and rosemead did an amazing job. I went in today and I was the last car they were doing for the day, after they finished up everyones, 4 guys got started on mines and 30 mins later it was done. If anyone is planning to go there on saturday expect a 1 1/2 to 2 hours wait to get it done.

I don't know if it is the stock windows from infiniti or what, but I did 2% (at least thats what it said at the shop) on the rear windows and nothing on the front windows and I think it looks good. Maybe it's the black car, with the balck interior, and blacked out rears but the front windows look tinted because the back ones are so dark. Also, I did 35% on the fronts, but got pulled over driving around 1 hour after getting the tint done, and drove right back and had to have it taken off. Luckily they removed it for free. Freakin CA cops, they could see through it no problem, but said ANY tint on the fronts is illegal and here is your ticket.

doesnt cali have fix a ticket or whatever? where you can rip the tint off in front of the cop and he cant give you a ticket or you can show the court?

stock windows let 80% light through so if you tint your windows you have to start at 80% instead of 100%

example 13% of 80% = 10.4% what i have

yeah it's a fixit, which means, get pulled over, get ticket, go to shop and pay to have it taken off, go show CHP, go get it put back on a week later for 40 or so bucks, rinse and repeat, LOL. Which is why I am now opting to just leave it off.

ah, now fter looking at all the other cars tints, I am thinking I may want to get it redone. However, I have been in enough trouble with teh cops when I had my WRX, so I definitely do not want to do the front windows, because I do not want to risk being pulled over for stupid stuff. So, do I leave it, or do you guys think I should have the back windows redone at like 35%?

If california, your allowed to have any windows after the front doors as dark as you like as long as you have both side mirrors. The front cannot be less than 70% visible light transmittance. So your tint is perfectly legal.

I live in so. cali as well and I went with a really light tint so I can tint all the windows and get away with it hopefully. I plan on taking my G back and getting the front windshield done in a 55% non metallic tint the shop had. It should be hardly noticable to people, but cut out on some heat...

70% VLT is basically no film on your windows and then any in the rear is totally weird lookin

so in california legal would be X% * .8 = .70 i dont have a calculator handy but it's ~87/88%
