so the 235/50/17 tire as an upgrade to the 215/55/17 tire won't reduce gas mileage and acceleration?

Generally a 235/50R17 tire when mounted on a 7" wide rim is about .2 to .4" taller, .6 to .7" wider, and 2 to 3lbs heaveir than a 215/55R17. The increased width will result in a bit more drag and the weight could slightly impact MPG. I think all of that would be pretty minimal though. The reason I'm not going with 235/50R17 is because of the tire bulge I see which tends to hurt initial steering response.

use this to calculate your overall tire diameter vs stock. You can even enter multiple tire sizes vs stock. But be careful. Tire makers do have limitations on what size rim is recommended for a particular tire size. tirerack has alot of specs on this

I feel the same way about them..not sure how people drive to only get 15K outta them...maybe a lot of City driving?

Anyways, in case anyone is interested, I'm looking to get rid of my tires (only tires), now that I have a 19" summer setup. The price is definitely negotiable:

LOL... Mine lasted ~500 km (310 miles)
.........Until I got into the shop to replace them.

I did however find something they're good for.....
holding down the winter cover on my pool steps.

In that case, do you need any more winter pool cover holder downers?

Exclamation Tires

Goodyear F-1 has a 235 -50- 17. Tire rack says the are a plus 0 replacement. Great reviews.
