Tough starting

I thought I would be calling Infiniti this morning about my car.

It almost started this morning, died, then it took me a couple minutes to start it this morning. Cranked good, but didn't actually want to catch.

This is only the 2nd time I've ever had trouble starting it. The first time was 2+ weeks ago when I let the battery go dead.

Then, when it did start, it ran rough for a couple minutes.

Since then, it has started fine, ran fine, etc.

Never put the check engine light on either.

Fuel filter? Bad fuel? My tank was at 3/8 tank.

try leaving the ignition in the on position for a good 10 15 seconds before you begain to crank. I have this problem too, and this technique seems to be helping. You fuel pump is able to pressurize when you do this.

Thanks. I'm just surprised I've never seen this in the 2 1/2 years I've had the car

Maybe I was just a little faster Monday, and once it died, it was short of fuel.

I suspect your battery is nearing the end of its life! Or, maybe it needs a good long charge after you let it go dead.

There has been a 520 mile highway trip between the battery going dead (left ignition key on to charge cell phone, so it wasn't the battery's fault). If the battery wasn't fully charged after that, then either the alternator or battery is coincidentially going bad.
