why can't i beat my friend's '06 330i?

i have tried vdc off and on and its usually the same result. Someone on the other board suggested dropping it from neutral? I have yet to do that but it seems harmful and i dont want to mess anythign up. No he told me he's patiently waiting for the dinan chip but as of now there are none out for the 06 models.

Interesting. I raced a black 2006 330I not too long ago and I beat him by a car and a half (and I was pulling away) up to 100mph before we both let up. But I am a 6MT. Could it be that much of a difference?

From my understanding of the BMW 330i is the fact that their automatics are EXCELLENT. It's a new generation of automatic transmission and I believe the AT's are just as fast as the MT's.
The G on the other hand has a good auto tranny, but still not as good as the Bimmers. Not to mention the Manual G's are significantly faster than the Auto G's.

wow if he kept up with a manual coupe, no wonder i had no chance. Now i feel better though, i thought it was only me. I guess the new ones are just fast. Gotta wait till the 07 comes out though and then compare.

Yeah I can vouch for this. Their auto mode has this incredible D/S sport mode. Mine feels like a dog compared to that mode. I wish infiniti had similiar system
The transmission holds the gears and shifts like a manual. I think he made a video of him accelerating from 0-120. It's somewhere up there too.
