YGBFKM with this Nissan?!?!?!

I use my cruise control a lot but have yet to set it for anything over 85mph.

This past Saturday morning I needed to run up to a buddies to work on my car. The beltway was as open and empty as I have ever seen it, so I went to set the cruise at 90mph. No dice. WTF?

So I slow back to 85mph and set the cruise. Works fine. I cancel it, throttle up to 90mph and go to set the cruise.... nothing. WTF?!?!?!?!

I go back to 85mph, set the cruise and use the "accel" button and as soon as it hits 90mph, the cruise shuts off.

YGBFKM?!?! I have never seen a car that did this.

I have... Many manufacturers have an upper limit on the cruise. I think you found it.

So, why do you need cruise control over 90? I'm betting this isn't limited to Nissan products, it's probably a safety issue IMO.

What year is yours? Mine is a 2005.

One of my buddies suggested that it might be a "soft setting" that can be removed or changed. Sort of like a speed alarm setting. I guess I need to RTFM to find out.

Anyone heard of this?

Should probably leave NickS (Mr Schumacher) alone since he is a fan or trial and error. He could be the next Darwin Award winner! Sorry Nick, you opened the door on this one.

haven't tried on my g35 but 90mph was the upper limit for my 02 6spd maxima when i took it down to vegas.... i thought i was going fast at 85-90 mph, this old man (must be 65+ yrs) was flying at 100+ in his 03-04 camry....

it must be a safety issue....
