i agree with other posters, for the dough, it's the best choice out there, 46k miles on my 03 6 speed and I still love the car!

Thanks for the article Shane!
I know all these 0-60 & 1/4 mile data are important to most.

For me the part of the article that I like is:
“This honey can dance as fast as you can pedal,
without a misstep and without punishing it’s partner in the ride department. ………………………
It’s a stepup that delivers Bimmer-esque compliance, and if the 3 series still holds an edge in this area,
the distinctions have become paper thin.”

Yeah, I actually read that part a couple of times Ian.....just to make sure I really read what I thought I read. While it looks like the new G still won't have bimmer driveability, it looks like the gap is getting closer at least. Isn't competitition a wonderful thing.

I was particularly surprised to hear the positive review of the gearbox. Especially when the bmw's, in comparison, is considered "rubbery." The bmw, s2000, and rx8 gearboxes were always the benchmark.

i agree with Car and Driver, when I was shopping back in 12/2003, i drove a manual 3 series and I liked the feel of the G much much better (the 3 had too much slop, longer throws, etc), it may be a personal preference, but I think the G 6 speed is awesome and better than the 3 series
